True! Last year when Rex benched Mark vs the Chargers after his pathetic 5 turnover performance vs the Titans, Mark had that look of anger & dissapointment on the sidelines while doing the "clipboarding" role. His post-game & subsequent interviews afterwards leaned more to a "not my fault; not deserving of this demotion; etc." offer while offering the most "vanilla yogurt" statements for his on-field mistakes are maddening such as "I recognize I shouldn't force passes into tite coverage but looking to create a spark"; "I know I should throw ball outta bounds rather than take 12 yd sack but felt I could escape pressure"; "the opposing D is only allowing me to throw 3-4 yd dump-offs on 3rd & 6-7+"; "I'm learning to hold the ball firmly if I'm hit or sacked to reduce turnovers"... 4 years is enuff! This franchise & fans has suffered for FAR too long. Keep it movin' until you find the "ONE".
I don't think that Woody wants to pay Mark the 8.5 mil to go on IR for the entire year unless his injury dictates it. And it makes no sense. Mark might as well be on the roster as a backup and insurance in case either Geno gets injured or is horrible. So far to me Geno is a potentially good Qb with a lot of talent. But if he gets hit with an injury than since you are paying Mark you would have him to either start a game or be a backup. On the other hand you might just want to cut ties with Mark and go forward. This franchise needs to go in a different direction in terms of the Qb position.
Mark holds a mean clipboard! And he's wearing his favorite clipboard glove. His wrist band has cliff notes and short hand tips for how to fill out a score card!
Rex and some of the people in the org who were there and had a part in the decision on drafting Mark will never give up on him. You see other organizations with little patience esp at the Qb position but it's a different story here with Sanchez and the Jets. Rex even has a tattoo of Mark and that shows you exactly where he's coming from. Idzik not the same loyalty. Mark was not good in pre-season so his contention that he won the job is a joke. It was same old same old with a pick 6 and red zone turnovers, etc. The best Qb in pre-season was Matt Simms. Mark sucked.
No - that is just what you desire to remember the most about Sanchez. You absolutely love the ass fumble.
That's a load of shit. Sanchez WAS ABSOLUTELY the best QB on that thin roster last year, yet he was benched twice. People need to stop the Rex myths. Rex doesn't have a tatoo of Mark, he has a tatoo of his wife in his jersey. Only drama queens even bring that up. Rex will play the better QB. This idea that he's got some unwavering blind loyalty to certain players is nonsense. Coples didn't start right away last year because he didn't fully grasp the system yet. Same with Davis. It's hilarious, people expect him to immediately start all rookies and play worse players otherwise it's just blind loyalty. The only joke here is your post. The only blind loyalty I see is with your hatred of Rex.
Mark was one of the worst Qbs in the NFL last season. His turnovers killed the team even when there was a slim chance the Jets could make the playoffs. Also poor execution and no sustained offense. He wasn't the best Qb on the Jets last season. I would have given Tim at least one start to see what he could do. Look what happened in Denver in 2011. What did Rex have to lose. It couldn't have been worse than it was with Mark. To say Mark was the best Qb on the team last season isn't saying much. But it reality not true.
So where do you have more posts, GatorNation.com, BroncosFans.com, TheGangGreen.com, PatsFags.com, MoscowBlackStormCommrades.com or John3.16.com? _
Well it's either that or the Tennessee meltdown, at least they got the snap off during the ass fumble.
I'm not a Timmy fan. I saw him in two exhibition games this pre-season and he wasn't very good. But he's better than Mark. A lot better.
the 8.5 is spent whether mark is on the team,on i.r. or cut. why would woody care if mark spent it on i.r.? fact is the season goes by alot quieter with mark away from the team. so if the injury dictates he go on i.r nothing about the money mark i getting this year will keep them from putting him on the shelf for the year.
All of a sudden your view is crystal clear. You're a Tebow fan and are butthurt that he was too crappy to start behind a struggling Mark Sanchez. Instead of realizing that he's garbage and was carried in Denver, you look to blame coaches and criticize the Jets. Tebow was brought in to be a gimmick player, not a starting QB. It wasn't working, so he didn't see much of the field. More proof of this was him getting cut on the Pats. Everyone thought the Jets were suppressing him or creating some huge anti-Tebow conspiracy but the truth of the matter is, the kid sucked. Nah, obviously you know more than the coaches though. Riiiiight. Tebow in the preseason: QB rating: 47 36% completion rate Sanchez has never put up numbers that bad in any preseason or season. This preseason: QB rating: 90 66% completion rate But yeah Tebow is A LOT better than Sanchez and you definitely saw it in the preseason! Nice try. Matt Simms > Tebow.
LOLGFY. Tebow is not better than any QB in the history of the world. Go have fun at McDonald.com--the next Tebow fan forum you can all infect. _
It's unfortunate but some events really are iconic. When you have a QB who has a reputation for turnovers and whose play has been increasingly erratic all it takes is something like the buttfumble to really fix the image in the public perception. Whatever Mark Sanchez was before the buttfumble he's going to be remembered for that long after everything else. That the event occurred in the middle of a really bad sequence for the Jets when they essentially got blown out of the game doesn't help.
My forecast is the following...they do move Mark Sanchez next year in some way or fashion. Probably will be an outright release as no one is going to trade anything for him. Having said that, mark my words. Mark Sanchez isn't the worst QB in the league. Depending upon team and talent can go in and be a serviceable starter. My greatest fear is him going someplace ridiculous....like the NE Patriots...take over for Brady in 4 years and blows us freakin' out for the next decade after. THAT would be TYPICAL Jets luck right there. Who really knows though.
Too bad that will never happen. You dont become a bottom 3 QB for over 5 years and them magically become Tom Brady. Its a more realistic scenario to see him in the CFL or Reality TV in the coming years...
Sanchez will go to a team with instability at QB(Minn, Jags) and compete for a starting gig. I can see him starting for any one of these teams, Sanchez is the classic example of a player needing a fresh start someplace else.
The guy cannot throw a football, period. Last year, preseason: Stephen Hill standing all alone on the goal line 25 yards away -- Tebow BOUNCED the throw to him. He is not an NFL-caliber QB.
I'm not going to go along with the assumption that TT is horrible. And that he can't throw a pass to save his ass. His style of football won games for Denver in 2011 incl. a playoff game vs. the Steelers. I don't know if he can play or not and be a starting Qb in the NFL. But as for 2012 I will second guess Rex for starting Mark. We know what the results were, catastrophic. We saw all the games down the stretch for two straight seasons. His fans who can't and won't ever forget the 4 playoff Ws won't ever give it up for Mark. Rex was one of them. He stubbornly held onto the idea that Mark would turn it around. So I don't even see a debate here. We again know what the results were with Mark. Wouldn't having tried Tim at least given us a better chance to win. If not then cut him (which they did anyways). And PS maybe benching Mark earlier would have been better for him too. Esp when after pick 6s etc he goes on the air and says "It was no big deal."
