Early returns on Idzik are not good to say the least, punting is the least of our problems another offseason came and went without any additions to the wr core, Clyde Gates shouldn't be on the team to begin with

 

Who should we have gotten this off-season with the cap situation where it was?

I was going to start getting annoyed with your posts until I realized that you probably are pre-pubescent - as this post clearly shows by you not having a clue who Michael Irvin is.

 

It is this ... rarely this year has our coverage been close to the returner. There should be a higher % of fair catches from opposing punt returners.

 

I agree with this philosophy. I just feel bad seeing him go because last season he had quite a good leg and his hang time was always his strength. Too bad he's hurt. Hopefully he heals up and we see him back later in the season.

Spot on....Get it done or GTFO. Idzik wasn't kidding about the Jets being about competition. First Milliner gets benched for lining up on the wrong side of the field, then Malone gets whacked for coming 15th out of 32 punters.

If Malone can be released due to being inconsistent, how can Gates still being on the roster be justified? Because he consistently sucks maybe?

 

This should not be a surprise. He was horrible against the Pats and one of the main reason the Jets lost that game was because they continually lost the field position battle. His punts are low line drives and easy to return. Good riddance.

 

And yet Gates and Spadola and Hill remains

 

It was a rain storm AND we chose not to use a PR 3 times. If they wanted to get rid of the problem then the ST coach would be gone.

 

Because Rex is the HC. Look at the track record with inconsistency in dealing with poor performers.
