http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...st-hit-that-broke-ian-williams-ankle/related/ Quinton Coples returns to the practice field Posted by Darin Gantt on September 16, 2013, 1:34 PM EDT Quinton Coples AP The Jets are always going to get more attention for their quarterback moves, but they’re getting closer to getting a key defensive part back, which should help. According to Brian Costello of the New York Post, outside linebacker Quinton Coples was back on the practice field Monday, his first work since suffering a hairline fracture in his ankle in the preseason. Getting last year’s first-round pick back will only help, because they were using him in various roles in the preseason, after coach Rex Ryan gave him a gentle nudge about his work habits in the weight room. The Jets have been starting special teamer Garrett McIntyre in his spot the last two games, and McIntyre has two tackles and no sacks
cimini reported today that wilkerson, coples and kerley are practicing. kerley has red/no-contact jersey on. anyone hear anything about richardson's injury?
Kerley was interviewed and said that he is 100% sure he will play on Sunday against the Bills. He is just awaiting doctor release. Wilkerson was said to have been jogging today. Good sign. Brian Bassett News: Wilkerson jogging, Coples dresses for practice http://t.co/dLxs9wVlYP #Jets #NFL
Cant wait to have Coples back, Just hope Kerley is 100%. He will be a huge piece that was missing on the offense. Hope to see Spadola play more.
Correct, but it's reassuring that Coples is practicing again and it's Monday. Kerley said he is 100% waiting for doctor release and Wilkerson was jogging, which is a very good sign, all considering today is only Monday. These guys have at least four more days to get completely healthy. Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk 2
This year, Rex is being more vague with injuries. That's an Idzik change designed to make things slightly harder for opposing teams. Even if Coples isn't ready, now maybe Buffalo spends some time game planning how they will deal with him if he is in the game. I think Wilkerson, Richardson, and probably Coples will be in the game, maybe Coples will only play a handful of snaps to help ease him back into it. With all 3 available, along with Snacks, the defensive front should be very effective at stopping Spiller and still bring pressure against the rookie.
Sploosh. Our defense has been awesome even without him. Now we will be adding another great physical threat to the field. Top 5 defense easily.
4th in PPG (15) 1st in opponent completion percentage (48.6%, only team under 50%) 7th in YPG 3rd in rushing YPA (2.4 yards) Keep in mind this is against the Patriots and Buccaneers, it's not like they played the Jags and Raiders. Throw Coples into the mix, this could be exciting to watch.
