I like Collie but I think his NFL career is over. The two guys I like the most are Edwards and Lloyd but it sounds like Edwards is hurt right now.
I'm sorry but good gms fix problems like this we have been dealing with this Wr shit for years now Mr. T ignored it he got fired and now Idzik ignores it what the fuck is wrong with this orginization ? Do they not look around the league? And realize how bad our WR's are ? It makes no sense to me and the cap wasn't the reason we didn't sign some new wr's in free agency I have no idea what the reason was. Geno is set up to fail just like Sanchez
So many of those names are better than Clyde Gates. Heck, many are better than Stephen Hill. I see no harm in bringing in guys like Lloyd and Cribbs for workouts
Call me crazy/feeding the circus what have you, but I'd love to bring Chad Johnson in. I think he's dying to get another shot and keep his yap shut, and I bet he'd be an upgrade over every WR on our roster.
Brandon Lloyd says no. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/09/11/lloyd-has-rejected-at-least-six-inquiries-about-playing/
Nice update Flash! Something has to be wrong w/Bray because no way in hell does he not get a call right now. but IMO, Laurent Robinson is still available? Get him in NOW!
Laurent Robinson is in the Austin Collie category: Multiple head injuries have either sapped his ability to play or he's having trouble getting cleared to play. I don't remember exactly but Laurent had like 4 concussions last year alone.
Damn, Really!?? Eeeshh... Still think he's worth a shot...no pun. Braylon size and speed w/ Better hands...
We all clamored and cried we need to get younger and guess what? We did. Give it a rest, give it some time. 1- Geno had very little 1st team reps this training camp between Sanchez stealing half his reps plus missing 1-2 weeks on a bum throwing ankle. Give him time to get better...he will. 2- Holmes was and still is our best WR, playing on a broken foot. He too will continue to heal and build a rapport with Geno, something they never developed in camp. The Geno to Holmes passes will only get better. 3- Kerley was out last night or we win the game going away. Kerley's coming back so relax. 4- Hill / Spadola / Gates are very young and still figuring this whole thing out. They will all continue to get better. Our passing game will only get better every week. Both Geno and Brady had depleted receivers last night in the pouring rain, yet even with 4 turnovers Geno outplayed Brady in nearly every category last night, yards, 1st downs, 3rd down conversions, etc. Outside of Brady's one TD on a blown coverage, he managed to score a grand total of 3 points last night. At least Geno earned his TD on a long drive.
Only and ONLY if they could get these guys on the super cheap would I even entertain bringing any of them in. The Jets are going to spend big money in FA once the Sanchez contract and a few others come off the cap after this season. Seriously the Braylon Edwards infatuation is bizarre. He's washed up just like everyone else on that list. There's a reason no one has picked up these guys. Kellen Winslow has looked good the first two weeks. Him and Geno have a nice rapport going.
We need some shift WRs with solid hands: Jordan Shipley BJ Cunningham (if his foot checks out) are the two that come to mind.
Austin Collie This is an easy choice. The issue with Collie has always been health, never talent. So I say why not bring him in and use him until he gets another concussion?
But really Da'Rick Rogers off the Colts practice squad, all those other guys are washed up vets. I love Braylon but he clearly isnt the same player he was before, he didnt do anything in the pre-season and wouldnt do anything here. Im sure the Jets wanted him to succeed but he cant play at that level anymore. Rogers is young, has some talent sign him and hope he flourishes in the future
