As Jets Esq said, Marty loves to throw the ball. I have never been an Eagles fan but I live with one and 99.7% of the people I know are Eagles fans. It's only week 2, and it was a short week. Let him get comfortable with what Geno can do and what his strengths are. Lets get Kerley back on the field and work on the screen game and things will get better. :)

In the red zone, down 3, 3rd down and 5, you need to run the ball there. Settle for a FG worst case. Need to get Geno the red/yellow/green arm band

That's kind of a cop out... Geno needs to either be sure or throw it away.

Truth is, I like an OC w/Balls who is willing to let his players make plays...
Unfortunately, We have guys Like Gates and Geno who are asked to make plays...

Geno and Gates... Sounds like a Long Island based Paving company...

We are moving the ball. Offense is more exciting. Doing a nice job.

Not sure why I am reading any defense of MM. He called a bad game and a poor 4th quarter. When you are down 3 in the 4th on the road at a division rival with a rookie QB and gain 6 yards on first down by running the ball, why is your rookie QB in the shotgun on second down? Shotty often set up Sanchez for failure in his rookie year and what you saw tonight was a repeat of that.

Marty called a bad game. He must have been watching the defense, because no sane OC would call for so many passes when our WRs can't catch a cold

I like an OC willing to be aggressive, but you need to protect Geno. he doesn't seem to have that feel for the offense that allows him to call a play, understand where guys are supposed to be an rip it. He has to stare plays down and even when doing that he was behind a lot of guys last night.

A lot of off target passes.

Play calling was definitely brutal. Geno still should have thrown away two of those that ended up as picks in FG range. Still think 3rd and 5 within FG range with rain and shitty receivers and a rookie QB you should call a run. Hell, more likely we get the first down on the run anyway so it's really win-win. Pass call was unlikely to yield anything better than a bit longer of a FG attempt due to an incomplete.

Seriously? They failed to get a first down on like 10 drives. They have managed 2 TD and 4 FGs this season. They have as many turnovers as scores.

I know this will cause people to go nuts but if Schotty had called the type game Marty called last night the mob would be out to lynch him. Just sayin

all great points and I agree with them all. MM was way too aggressive in bad weather.

    "Where was Winslow tonite ?"

We do realize Bill Belichick can still coach a defense. And we know from watching the Pats for the past ten years that BB always game plans to take one weapon away from the opposing offense. Guess who he focused on last night?

"I like an OC willing to be aggressive, but you need to protect Geno"

Change "Geno" to "Mark" and you would have exactly what they did with Sanchez and at the end of the day this "protection of the QB" contributed to his lack of development. I am glad they are throwing Smith into the fire. Let him make his mistakes now and learn. I am confident he'll be making those throws and not giving games away in his fourth season.

"Truth is, I like an OC w/Balls who is willing to let his players make plays"

Ground and Pound is dead and rightfully so.

Hoepfully, instead of settling for game tying FG attempts the plays get made and the Jets are scoring touchdowns.

I didn't have a problem with the playcalling. Players were open all night. Marty must of thought he could trust Gates and Hill lol

Marty learned a lesson about our WRs last night.

I will agree that I did not like the playcalling last night...It seemed we passed when we should have run and run when we should have passed. There was also a deep route by both WR run on a 3rd and manageable that was incomplete, which drove me nuts.

However, end of day the WRs dropped a flurry of passes and Stephen Hill killed us last night. So it's hard to say. And Geno simply has to make better and quicker decisions. He cannot stand in the pocket like that, either throw it or use your legs kid. Not only did he stand there he stared down 1 guy. If you noticed he wasn't going through his progressions enough or fast enough.

I do not want to seem like a Geno apologist here. But to me Talib closed off an angle on the throw because Hill was too close to Holmes? (intended receiver on that pick). This cause the other defender to be able to jump the route. Hill needed to either come shorter giving the second guy room to work or gtfo the way. But, the throw was a tad behind the receiver so I know that was not good.

He called a good enough game to where we were in position to at least tie it

If Geno throws the ball away instead of making a bad pass and INT we tie the game up most likely

That being said still wish he would have ran it with Ivory more dude was running hard all night

My question for Marty would be why not throw to the tight ends. Were they covered the entire game? Not his fault about the retarded punt non coverage. I heard Rex's reasoning for it after the game and to me stupid. We gave up any chance of returning a punt and had bad field position the entire game. Whereas Edelman gave NEP good field position with his returns. I am happy that Marty scrapped the wildcat.

I've been very unimpressed with MM thus far. Of course, if we had players that could catch the ball, he might look somewhat better.
