There have been reports that Rex was going to name Geno the starter after the Lions game but he delayed it because of the ankle injury.
Not sure about him winning the job when he in pre-season again made the same mistakes that haunted this team the past two seasons. Red zone turnovers, a pick 6, etc. As a matter of fact Geno was looking very good until he twisted his ankle. As far as signing him to a reduced contract for next season, No, No and finally No. I hope the team goes forward whether Geno is good or not and disassociates themselves from Mark. Worst QBR for his four seasons as a Qb, 52 turnovers. Don't want him back! PS what good does it do to bring this up now. He's been a good team player standing on the sidelines supporting Geno and helping him out but now he has to say something like this. It doesn't help Geno or the team at all.
I just hope Mark gets that Labia tear fixed. He seriously needs to see that his football days are over and he was darn lucky to get all the money he got for it. Goodbye Mark, you will not be missed.
Randy Lange QB Geno Smith in first 28 mins vs TB on SUN was 7-for-16 with 35.4 passer rating. In the last 32 mins he was 17-for-22 with 113.4 rating.
He shoulda kept that to himself and this is why Sanchez needs to be cut. Everybody needs to be on board with whoever the starting QB is.
I def think he meant the media not from a fan's perspective. Nobody said this shit. Rex never made an announcement, all rumors by fans.
How did Sanchez win the competition when they didn't play against the same competition? By Sanchez's standard Simms won the competition. Geno won the starting job competition, Sanchez played better against Jax in a scrimmage then Geno did against the Giants in the final walk through for the season? Not sure how that's a real competition. I think they should race 100 yards and throw footballs through tires.
Why? What did he deserve to win the job? Two scoring drives is enough to win the job? He played pretty poorly outside of two drives this preseason. When you factor in his pick 6, INT in the redzone, redzone fiasco and fumble in the Giants game, he did not earn anything. If he "won" anything, it was only because Geno wasnt ready. Plain and simple.
Hell no. If Geno looks like trash you bench him and find out what Simms has. If they're both trash, QB in round 1 2014. Sanchez is gone. And with comments like this, good riddance.
Old news. Sanchez thought he had won by week 2 of training camp. He's a confident guy. Nothing wrong with this.
It was unnamed sources from after the Giants game. My guess is it was Mehta. Which does not mean it was untrue but then again does not mean it was true. But its also consistent with what we have seen in the competition that Geno was going to win as Sanchez was not able to separate himself from a rookie in the competition.
