He might as well have the surgery and get healthy for someone else next year, it's not as if he's going to play at this point anyway.
I wonder if the Jets save any money (insurance) if he has the surgery now and goes on IR..maybe that's why he isn't. I'm sure he has an axe or two to grind here.
No one wanted to see Mark hurt, yet this may be best for all involved. Having Mark on the active roster COULD create split loyalties within the team. I am reminded of the first explorers who burned there ships upon arrival to the new world, so there men knew there was no going back. An if Mark never plays another down in the NFL again, if he is smart with his monies, he will be a rich man for the rest of his life. As you digest that last statement remember just how young he is.
This is such a funny and insightful post. torn shoulder = burned ship Although another pick 6 = burned ship
Also this Cimini article is pretty accurate: http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york/jets/post/_/id/27046/analysis-sanchezs-days-in-ny-appear-over I really don't like to see him go out like this, he provided 2 of the best seasons I ever remember watching as a Jets fan but things happen for a reason. This really works out well for Geno and like others have mentioned, I hope he seizes the opp.
Yeah he gave us 2 solid exciting years it's a shame he got hurt, no one wants that to happen, hopefully geno takes advantage of this opportunity and doesn't get lazy knowing now he has no viable backup to replace him
Can't believe the facebook idiots that "like" people's posts about Mark Sanchez's shoulder. Apparently you haven't been jets fans long. This guy has still won more playoff games than Matt Stafford, Matt Ryan, Jay Cutler, Michael Vick, Matt Schaub, Phillip Rivers, and Tony Romo. You can say running game and top tier defenses helped in those wins but he still was at the helm behind center. Wanting a change is one thing but celebrating the injury of a player on a team you claim to be a fan of just proves you're an idiot.
Honestly the media doesn't know anything. Per @briancoz https://twitter.com/briancoz/status/378124383547437056 @BrianCoz: "No surgery needed yet for Sanchez"
Mark can really use this time to get healthy, get paid and get better then sign with another team next year. As bad as an injury is, it might end up being best for both parties. Unless of course, he ends up starting somewhere else then comes back and beats us..
Buttfumble was just an "endless" joke. They crucified this kid with that bullshit and Tebow was a TERRIBLE decision. Always had shitty OC's but a great defense to save that. To think we get it worse for Buttfumble than Pats got for AH. I guess Buttfumble is worse :breakdance:
He would be stupid not to get the surgery. He knows he's not going to be a Jet next season. Get the operation, rehab and be ready for free agency next year. Best way to go about it if he's smart.
I don't believe the article is good. He chastises Woody for suggesting Sanchez's injury was his own fault without even acknowledging the fact that Woody followed up the same day clarifying his comments saying he definitely did not mean to blame Sanchez for his injury. It's typical fuck head Cimini garbage. Purposely leave out important details to make the Jets look as bad as possible and get internet clicks. He's a dickhead and Jets fans shouldn't be bothered with reading his articles. Unfortunately I clicked on the link you posted and read it because you praised him.
I'm just pissed off about this whole injury and how it's been handled. Should never have been in the Giant preseason game in the 4th quarter, and how about the crack medical staff calling him day to day for 3 weeks. I wish Geno well, no doubt, but I'm not happy how this all has gone down. Sounds like a bunch of BS to me.
Sad to think that even if he never plays a down of football again with the Jets, he still would be considered one of the most successful Jet quarterbacks in history. It's hard to wrap your head around that fact given how he shit the bed the last 2 seasons but it is true.
