It sounded funny to me. Imagine if the Jets considered @ Patriots a trap game in between the Buccaneers and Bills at home. Made me laugh.
I'm sure they would quiet down some. At some point they have to stop hating if the Jets seem like they might not suck.
Can you even get out of your own way? You look stupid joking and worse explaining it. Teams don't consider any game a trap game. You don't fall for a trap if you are looking for a trap. The Jets' corners are Cromartie, who pre-game Tampa basically bragged about how when he and Vincent Jackson were both in SD (see Lynch's comments during the game) how they had to do away with 1-on-1's between him and VJ because he embarrassed him too much, and a very confident rookie who really hasn't figured shit out at this point. It's not that the entire team isn't taking the Pats seriously. But the secondary may not. They still have Brady. That makes the injuries far less of an issue. Now go dry-hump your fathead of Heath Ledger.
The media wasn't hating on the Jets in 2010 when they were coming off an AFCCG appearance and won 11 regular season games. The last two years of no playoffs and off field distractions have fed the beast. The only way to quiet it is to win.
I don't know why you have to react that way, but to each their own. You don't give me much credit, that is for sure.
a simple "i didn't get the joke and found it unfunny" would have sufficed... the hating will never stop... ever. there will just be more excuses, they will never take the jets seriously until they win two championships in a row. I'm fully convinced of that. anything else is a fluke, the goal posts will be moved further no matter how many times folk nails it.
The 2010 season was filled with media, maybe rightfully so, calling the Jets a circus and saying you can't win like that and that it's an Animal House atmosphere and Rex has no control. And then heading into NE nobody gave us a chance or even IND to be honest. OH and that silly talk that we "Backed" into the playoffs by losing in week 16 of the season. I didn't think it was possible to back into the playoffs before the last game of the season. Even last year, it went into OT. It seems at least since Rex got here, our best shot at you is the 1st time we play you. 1st time results: 16-9 (H) 28-14 (H) 21-30 (A) 26-29. (OT) (A) 2nd time results: 14-31 3-45 16-37 19-49 So in addition to whatever reason we play you better the 1st time (and 3rd :grin under Rex, you are coming weaker than you have been in the recent past, even though overall that's still at a high level. I hope it's a close game obviously and we pull out the W. The spread is 12 points last I think is accurate if you believe 3 points for the home team, meaning you are just about TD and FG favorite on neutral. I think if anyone comes it expecting the Jets to win or favoring in, that's too ridiculous. The Jets have a better shot than they normally would, this is probably their best shot this season barring one major injury. I don't think it's embarrassing if the Jets lose this game, it's still a rookie QB on the road on a short week with a limited WR core for us.
That night was magical. And a big thanks to pereiro16 for an excellent video and for not using the NFL.com clips with their asinine comments.
Don't hold your breath for it. It'll be "injured Pats" and "lucky bounces" all over the place. It won't be "Jets won the game", but "Pats lost it" instead.
