Here is a spreadsheet of the picks: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AqPXYs6dNQ5RdDlVbVRaR2ZueWpOZHU4aVkwVVB3V2c#gid=0 98% picked the Jets to lose against the Buccaneers. Thank you WalterFootball! Here are some comments from the creator of the spreadsheet:
If you guys weren't Jets fans, you would have voted for TB too. How many of you had the Titans over the Steelers? Exactly, stop worrying about the experts, and criticizing the experts and just enjoy each game.
I would have picked TB as well. TB is a very good team with a very good defense. We were starting a rookie QB who many questioned if he was "ready." TB has the type of RB in Martin that has given us fits the last few years. This was a very tough game to pick the Jets. A well deserved win over a good team.
I have no problem with anybody picking Tampa over the Jets, thats definitely a talented team. But something stupid like 98% should be reserved for something like Jaguars vs 49ers, i mean give me a break.
I'm surprised so many people picked the Steelers, possibly just because of who they are? Big Ben is great and all, but I'd dare say his supporting cast could be worse than the Jets.
Bullshit. I have eyes, I can see for my own. I know that Rex always has a dominate defense and this offensive system has looked impressive even before the season began. Tampa Bay on the other hand looked like dog shit last year and continued throughout this years preseason. I know preseason doesn't mean shit but you can kinda get a feel for the tendencies you can anticipate once the regular season starts. I also felt before the season started that the Ravens were going to be the biggest losing surprise team this year and the Steelers won't be relevant again until they dump Todd Haley. It's only been one week of football but those are my predictions even before the regular season started. So well see what happens as we go along here.
Love it. Also love that our power rankings have gone up, especially the trollish ESPN dead last ranking.
98% doesn't necessarily mean that we were pegged at a 2% winning chance. It is nice that those who thought it would be a blow out were completely wrong though.
I get we were the underdogs... but 98 percent?? Goes to show the influence the sports media has, and how stupid some fans are that they actually listen.
They aren't experts, they are trend followers. Hating on the Jets and calling them the worst team in the league is the hot trend, regardless of its inaccuracy. If any team should be last place it's Jacksonville. In my suicide pool 30% of people got eliminated picking the Bucs last week. Nobody gives the Jets any credit. It's all good. It will fuel our fire.
I was still shocked that 68% picked Miami to lose to the Browns! I would expect a good amount but not that many ... Hope you guys take down NE on Thursday
What does it matter who picked who? Aside from a few of them, these people have no more credibility than most on this forum when it comes to picking games.
