Its funny how the better teams seem to accidentally win a lot huh. Never seems to happen for the Bills either. Wonder why.

Typical Bills troll response. Why come in here and bitch and moan? Why not actually say what you thought of the Pats as a team from them playing the Bills and how the Jets or the Pats can win?- what should the gameplan look like, who wins in the trenches, who will be brtter coached ect ect.

You sound like a pathetic troll when you come in here and say the jets got lucky in a win and now they have backed themselves into a win. Last time I checked their defense is still solid and they have Tom Brady. Nothing is gift wrapped with him.

We know, we know. Any win the Jets get is a miracle and there will always be some lame excuse to why we won.

    It's predictable.

This comes from the same people that label our team 32nd in the league, the same people that seem to think we are the "easy" win on their schedule, and these same people claim that your average Joe would be a better fit at WR.

If you listen to the media, we clearly don't have anyone with any talent on offense.

Everyone will also forget about how we likely won't have out shifty slot receiver in Kerley either.

    ...but .....but

The Almighty Tom Brady is missing people on offense. Poor Tom.

    Give me a break.

He still has Edelman who is another shifty receiver, the Patsies always have quality depth at running back. Their offense will still be a force to reckon with regardless.

    Stop making excuses.

I know why you are acting this way and its because your scared that the Jets are about to do what the Bills couldn't do. It's ok, the sooner you accept your team is the team that truly deserves to be in the cellar, is the sooner you can start to come to terms with the next decade + of mediocre BILLS football.

    Have fun with that.

You have it ass backwards, what you mean to say is that the Jets almost accidentally lost the game by having a blown coverage that set up the go ahead FG. The Jets had noting to do with some idiot hitting the QB after he ran about 10 feet out of bounds down the sideline.

Cue the media after they all pick the Pats.

This will be the response if the Jets were to win.

I think the poor showing by the Patriots against Buffalo has got people excited.

First the Buffalo defense hassled Brady in the same way the Jets are capable of.

    Second, The Patriot rookie's were a no-show.

Third, Of the 3 offensive players (other than Brady) who were key in the game, 2 aren't going to play.

Finally Buffalo's rookie QB was able to score on the Pats D, so why not the Jet's rookie QB?

As a Patriots fan I am much more aware of the Patriots weaknesses and the matchups don't look good to me for Thursday. This game really has the potential to be a real dogfight.

I see it as the best chance for the Jets to win against the Pats this year, so I would see at a lost opportunity.

But like you are saying Brady is Brady, the Buffalo game was a wakeup call that football is for real now and the rivalry is real, Brady and the Pats really like to beat the Jets.

agree that this very likely will be a low scoring physical battle back & forth.

If Geno keeps his turnovers/mistakes to 2 or under the deciding factor will come down to Pats OL vs. Jets DL.

Is there any video links to Bayless/A. Smith from this morning? I got an SportsCenter update that they were debating how much trouble the Patriots are in against us. Really trying to see some defending-Jets talk for a change.

Edit: NVM. The update comes provided with the video to watch lol.

I could see either team winning this game, but right now the stars are aligning for the Jets and this would seem like a perfect chance to beat the Patriots.

There are no elite TEs to throw to, Vereen is out, Amendola is out, Gronkowski is out. Edelman is now Brady's go-to guy, and I also expect to see many targets to Thompkins. Ridley has some fumbling tendencies at times and may be playing conservatively because he got benched for fumbling already. On the flip side, if the Patriots can catch the Jets in the wrong formation, and have a lot of success running the ball, that would open up opportunities for Brady to succeed in the passing game, especially if his o-line is able to stop the Jets from being able to collapse the pocket. They may be able to orchestrate some mismatches somewhere if the Jets don't have the right players on the field when Brady goes into no-huddle mode. Of course, the Patriots will also have home field advantage, and crowd noise could help disrupt a rookie QB. If the Patriots defense can force 2-3 turnovers that give Brady the ball in the red zone, that will spell game over for the Jets even if everything else is going great for the Jets- there is no way the Jets could spot the Patriots 14 - 21 points through turnovers and still win- IMO that is the Patriots' best chance of winning this game.

On the flip side, I think the Jets have a few ways to win. If the Jets' defense can shut down the Patriots' running back committee as they shut down a pro bowl RB last week, and yet still be able to generate consistent pressure on the QB (as they also did last week, although the Patriots have a better O-line), the Patriots' offense is going to struggle and keep having to try to convert on 3rd downs. The Jets seem to be able to get QB pressure AND stop the run with just ~5 guys, and if that holds true for this game then I think the Jets will probably win, as long as Geno doesn't implode. Offensively, the Jets need to be able to string together some drives- Buffalo was pretty incompetent offensively for almost the entire first half of the game last week, and I think the Jets need to come out strong in the first half and avoid having a lot of three and outs- they need to keep the ball out of Brady's hands and give the defense a chance to rest, and I would look for Winslow to have a strong game. NE's secondary is a bit spotty, and their defense lacks a strong pass rushing ability, so Geno may find time to make plays, especially with Winslow. The WRs will need to step up their game without Kerley. And then, it's also possible that the running game finally gets going and we could see some good production out of Ivory and Powell (but that seems unlikely since VW is there.)

It should also be noted that in the same season as the infamous Buttfumble, earlier in that season the Jets almost beat the Patriots. (Which means they lost. Yeah, I know, but it shows they weren't as incompetent as they were in the second New England game, people act like that's how the Jets were playing every single game last season and it just isn't so.) That was with Sanchez, no Holmes, no Revis (which is a wash because obviously the Jets don't have him this year or ever again,) and when the Patriots had Gronkowski and Hernandez, and Wes Welker, etc. If they barely eked out a win against the Jets in that situation, and now their offense is inarguably significantly worse than last year (especially in Week 2) then I'd say the Jets have to have a good shot based on that alone.

If the Jets want to be able to shock the NFL world and actually be playoff contenders in December, this is a game that will be extremely helpful to win. It's not a "must-win" but it is close to it.

For the Patriots, they can afford to drop this game; they will probably improve a lot as the new players gain experience through the season, and they often take like 3 or 4 games before they start to hit their stride.

Oh, so Sanchez has been a better quarterback than both Phillip Rivers and Tony Romo. Got it . . .you just can't help embarrassing yourself, huh?

Yes. As much as the Patriots have dominated this division with some big wins there have been more then a few squeakers as well. It's never has been as easy as the record shows.

I think the Pats Oline is very good but they'll crack if Brady takes too much time to find a receiver. If the Patriots can keep their running game in the mix I think eventually they'll win.

I agree. The bolded is spot on. Also, people always tend to overreact to week 1 performances in the NFL. I would be very cautious of being overly critical of the Pats based on week 1 NFL action. Being able to win games when you aren't at your best is truly the mark of a great team and the Pats have been doing this for years.

I didn't like SAS on Monday saying Geno's mouth will get him trouble and bashing Geno for his raising his arms when Folk hit the FG

Steven A. Smith is a joke and should not be taken seriously. Him and Skip.

How do you accidentally win a football game? I assure you the Jets were trying, that alone would preclude the win from being "accidental."

I don't think that it is a slam dunk best shot to beat NE for the Jets this season. The 2nd time they play the Jets have Coples back, greater development of the young linemen and Miliner and potentially a more poised and developed Geno.

Like I have said before I think Geno is going to be good but I dont trust him in his second game playing against Bellichick.
