Res is part of the defense either way so no excuses and taking a TO there would have killed us if they wound up moving the ball anyway.
They were hardly moving the ball all day. A timeout there negates the big gain to Jackson. You have no idea how it plays out...but Id trust the defense that made stops all game.
what about all the other passes to Jackson? a TO doesn't negate anything. Jackson was killing us all day. The D had the game in their hands and failed like so many times before yet you trust them?
What I find curious, is that the offense has struggled to ice games or put them away also. Most of the time where you go back to where the D "blew" the game, the possession before the Jets offense usually does not help the defense. Yesterday for example, we go 3 and out and give the ball back to TB in a situation where a couple first downs puts us in FG range or running well ices the game. Go back ATL game in 2009, offense has a chance to give team 7 point lead, miss FG. Tebow comeback, same thing. Offense could have added points or worked clock, did neither. NE OT game, grabbed 3 points and 0 first downs. WC game @ IND, ball with 4:35 left, go 3 and out except Colts run into our punter. Go 3 and out again and punt. Look at the Pitt game in 2010 in December. Same thing, offense has a chance and punts it away. Neither side really has a killer instinct that can just end a game. The offense and defense always let it extend that one extra possession. I would blame the D more, but the "failures" have happened in relatively low scoring games where the offense has given the ball away. Overall I would like the D to play better late in games, but I would also rather not see us relying on them in almost every close game to get a stop. How come we just can't run the ball, pick up some 1st downs, and ice the game without the ball ever going back to the other team. Do you know by any chance how many snaps/how often Wilson played? I couldn't find it anywhere.
There is way too much Geno ass kissing going on. The guy had huge sacks, fumble, interception and the only TD pass was way behind and only a TD thanks to a great play at the other end. Not to mention they played a horrible pass defense, and out of the partial play Revis was in he almost had two INTs thanks to late passes which were behind the WRs. The only thing that won this game was the horrible play and excessive penalties by their defense and the great play by our big guys up front on both sides of the ball. The reason everyone complained about Sanchez is his turn-overs, well Geno has two and from what I saw he will have far many than Sanchez did in any season.
No you said "chance that Geno Smith plays well"... I don't call what he did well, more like not bad enough to lose us the game, and that was barely.
D. Davis was really impressive yesterday. Lots of people have mentioned the great hustle on that game-saving tackle at the end of the game but nobody has mentioned the fact that he was also the leading tackler on our D yesterday.
I was mainly referring to you acting like a sore loser, and you didn't disappoint. So how miserable were you when Folk kicked the game winner? If the Jets lost, you could have really layed into Geno this week. I'm sure you're saving it all up for when he has his first real stinker, though.
I really wanted to believe that you weren't a total troll. But here is the thing. I just searched your post history for the past year and scanned that like of worthless dogshit, and came to the conclusion that you can't be anything but a total troll. Even a total motion could make better posts than that. Enjoy your retirement. Master Sergeant.
sure sometimes our O could have put games away like Sunday but that doesn't matter. I keep hearing how we have had a "dominant" Defense. If that was the case we wouldn't consistently blow late leads the way we have since 2009.
To make some of you happy, I will say this, if Geno can lead us to a victor against the Patriots and does not turn over the ball twice as much as he scores, I will back off and even change my avatar. I'm predicting my avatar will be there for a long time, but as a Jets fan of 40+ years, it would be sweet to believe, but he needs to show a hell of a lot more than last Sunday.
Geno's facing a much weaker defense with the Patriots. That's pretty much undeniable. I wouldn't be surprised if many QBs struggle against the TB defense this year. Jetsfan is definitely a troll.
When we have a real QB behind center, or I would change it to Super Simms if he ever gets a shot to start.
Can you change your sig instead? Every time I see your posts it leads me to believe you have prepubescent Japanese girls locked in your basement.
I hate Cimini but appreciate that he keeps track of snap counts: http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york/jets/post/_/id/26820/new-york-jets-playing-time-breakdown
He must have either had that provided to him or ripped it off from somewhere, because he is saying that every time Bohanon was on the field was a two back set and I remember at least twice where Geno was in the shotgun and Tommy was the sole back, lined up next to him. At least Dickie is trying to give the appearance of having done research.
