My comment was more about the need of a good TE in today's league. Nothing against Milliner, who as HArpua said did some good and some bad.
I wish they would have given Hill some more chances deep. He was running way too many underneath routes. I'll take the six catches from and seven from Winslow though.
I wish I started him on my fantasy team over that bum Jimmy Graham! Yeah he was huge today. I hope Cumberland is alright though. Might be concussed.
Had they kept Braylon, Geno would've had TWO "security blankets". But let's let Braylon go because we're "stacked" at WR. okay then. (yes, I'm bitter. )
To me, the biggest news: Kellen Winslow! When the hell was the last time a Jets TE has SEVEN catches in a game? I realize his knees are shot, but the guy has glue for hands. This could be a huge asset!
The greatest thing he brings to the table is that with a rookie qb..what a great feeling for Geno that he has someone who pays attention when a play breaks down. Always been a major flaw with Jet receivers who give up on plays. If you watched Winslow yesterday, he had a few catches where it left the route....filled in empty parts of the field...and with a kid with legs who can stretch plays out...if Winslow stays healthy...wouldnt shock me if he ends up with 80 catches.
I mean it was unbelievable. The guy had as many catches in one game as Anthony Becht would have had dropped!
Winslow was great out there, I agree. He will prove to be a good pickup, maybe Idzik's best this season, by the end of the year.
Huge game. Definitely was Geno's go-to guy. Something I noticed about Winslow while the Jets were on D was kind of funny; he's like a little kid on the sidelines. He was throwing a ball up to himself and running around like he had ADD or something. Just kind of funny to see.
I understand wanting to go with young guys, but you need to balance out the corp with a vet. I hope Braylon comes back. He gives the Jets someone that defenses has to account for even if he lost a step. Even at 37 you can't leave Ray Allen open at the 3 point line. Similar to Braylon you can't leave him open up top because a QB like Geno that can actually scan the field he'll get Braylon the ball.
Braylon can't get open like he used to is the problem. You can't leave any WR open at the top but the problem is Edwards doesn't have the speed to get over the top anymore without coverage messing up. Just like Ray Allen he can't get himself open as easily anymore without help.
TO can still get open a few times in the preseason. Doesn't mean I want him on this team. Braylon should be signed if there is an injury but I really dont get the love some of you guys have for him. If he was decent he'd be on a team right now. He's lost a step and then some.
