And yet we beat him without paying 16M a yr for a CB. Funny how that worked out.

In a perfect/fantasy world if Revis could be swapped for Milliner, I would go as far to say that the Jets were going to make it to the playoffs. With the front seven the Jets now have, having a guy like Revis would've sent shivers down the spines of opposing offenses.

Well, Revis is a free agent next year:grin:

Just kidding, I agree with your post, but don't see anyway Revis comes back to the Jets, nor would the Jets want him back unless maybe he actually lowered his demands (wishful thinking).

Fortunately it's likely we won't play him again until 2017.

Revis did what was best for him; the Jets did what was best for them. Corners, even the best in the NFL (like Revis) aren't worth what Revis was asking; but hey he found somebody actually winning to pay that kind of money, so good for him. I hope he is successful, save when being successful negatively effect the Jets.

U'r a fn idiot. Go back and watch hardknocks. How many times did Tanny and Rex drive down to Rosco's Dinner in PA during training camp in Cortland to meet with that selfish bastard and buy him a 'nice steak dinner'?

How often did you hear Revis' name today? Three times? I don't care hoe elite Revis is, no CB is worth anywhere near $16 million a year. Some positions demand more money than others and CB does not merit that kind f money. Plus he will likely hold out next year if he has a good season in order to get guaranteed money,

Precisely. As much as I absolutely adored watching Revis play here, I sincerely believe the Jets made the right decision.

False. This logic is simply untenable in the world of the salary cap. The restrictive spending limit imposed by the NFL salary cap makes it so that teams must constantly assess and reassess the relative worth of players and positions. Revis wasn't worth 16 million dollars a year to the NY Jets. He just wasn't.

To be fair, the fact that you don't hear Revis's name a lot is an indication of his elite status; opposing QBs respect him so much they seldom throw in his direction. But I agree with the general point; Revis is the best CB in the game and certainly valuable, but not worth the price he demanded.

He was wasted today. He had nobody to cover and shut down. When an opponent does not have a top #1 receiver, he is lost on his own island.

Revis looked like his old self. He's a unique player and he's fun to watch, but damn that victory felt good!

Revis makes more than all the Jets DB's combined and the Bucs DB's account for 25% of the teams total salary yet a rookie QB put up more passing yards than their veteran.
You seem way too emotionally invested in this to proclaim that others are operating on emotion instead of logic.

    A Football Life: Darrelle Revis

Thought I'd point out to Jets fans that a new episode of " A Football Life" on the NFL network is airing the Revis one Sept 17th At 9 pm, It should be pretty intresting to see his thoughts on everything he went thru with the injury and being traded. Maybe it's just me but does anyone else wanna watch this?these mini documentarys r usually pretty good
