The call at the end of the game wasn't questionable, it is a penalty on every Sunday in every game. It was a gift but not from the refs.

Their run defensive did not look bad, their punting game did not look bad, the short screen pass did not look bad - therefore they did not look bad "in all facets" of the game.

Watching NBC and they show the replay of Kerley getting popped and the announcer says somrthing line "Kerley might not know who he is player for and where he is" as the other two announcers chuckle in the background. NFL might want to crack down on that, you can't have announcers making jokes about concussions after trying to protect the players from them so much

Okay we're delusional because we're happy for a win and see some progress from our Rookie QB.

    Sounds about right. [IMG]

Where are you guys coming from? A gift penalty? Are you as clueless as you sound. Spouting the Tampa Bay is a terrible team BS. Did you actually watched the game or were you too busy taking your afternoon nap

I was a little skeptical after half 1

But even I admit there are definitely SOME positive things to take from this game

Anyone who fails to admit it is either lying or does not know football

Tampa Bay is a very scary team. Their front 7 is great and their weakness was their secondary. They remedied that by getting Revis and the all pro safety of the 49ers (the guy who kept killing our receivers and getting the penalties) and having high draft picks from the last few years fill out the rest of the starting secondary. They might be the best defense in the NFL, at least in terms of personnel.

On offense, they have a fabulous RB and two great wide receivers. Freeman runs hot and cold, but he didn't play all that badly today given how many shots he took. He certainly didn't give the game away with turnovers.

Tampa bay is absolutely not a terrible team - I'm seeing them with 10+ wins this year.

On an unrelated note. The jets clock management was terrible and while the 15 yard penalty was helpful, there was still 7 second left on the clock, Geno could have completed a 15 yard sideline pass and gotten the win even without the penalty.

The reason MM wasn't dialing up plays down the field was because TB was not generally stacking the box. They were mostly relying on their front 7 to stop the run on 1st and 2nd down (unless it was 2nd and short). Most teams won't be able to do this and most teams don't have a Revis that also allowed them to play the deep safeties. I'm sure against the Patriots we'll see a lot of shots down the field because they will have to bring one of their safeties down to stop the run and the short passing patterns.

All in all a very impressive debut by Geno. Can't wait to see what he and MM come up with for a crappy defense like the one the patriots have.
