the call was fine. the rule is weak, but that's the rule. when a q-b is out of bounds, hands-off. that said, i think that linebacker proved he's a hard-ass thug. so...good-fa-him.
Yeah, you could say the Bucs made too many mistakes but, that's the game of football. As was mentioned, we gave the ball up on the 5 yard line. Huge mistake there, too. Besides, I'm not taking that excuse against a rookie QB. The Jets earned this win. Demario Davis...what a play that turned out to be.
very promising. blame TB's loss on Schiano, we all know what kind of coach he is. he needs to discipline his players.
They will call that penalty all day when the runner is a QB. If he was a RB they might not have even tho, yes it was technically a penalty.
what i am worried about is our CBs. But id rather have a strong DL than a strong CB (which is what we had before). Our CBS are going to get burned, we will probably mid level in terms of passing D, but so long as our Run D is strong and our pass rush is there i can live with it.
Wow. You guys are pathetic. We didn't have expectations to win this game or play good. Yet we did. Geno made promising plays, but also rookie mistakes. I'm glad I'm on the other side of the country and not by some of you that can't appreciate a win when people didn't expect us to perform this decent.
He was more stepping out of bounds than actually out of bounds when the hit was put on him, it was a very weak call, but whatever those happen, still a W.
I am willing to go with geno for the season and see were we land. he had a very Sanchesque game but for 65% completion, which probably made a huge difference in the 2 important 4q drives (admittedly penalties helped ). Did anyone else felt the relief of having only scrub receivers, i never got worried when we lost 2-3 of them because they are all replaceable .
Cro looked very bad at times, Dee looked so so. They both seemed to do well on anything that wasn't a slant. When a slant occurred, it felt like they were beat always. We didn't hear much Wilson which is a good thing, not sure how many snaps he played though as I heard Walls name more often. Then the rest of the CBs didn't really hear much from.
What I learned today was Geno isn't as bad as that Giants game made him look. With a OLine and Wr's that are NFL calibre, he can be effective. This was his first game and he didn't shit the bed. Any Jet Fan should be happy with what they saw today. I would imagine the Sanchez fans aren't real happy as they be coming around to the realization that w/o catastrophic injury, Sanchez has played his last game as the starting Qb of the NYJ's. Whatever. Life is a bitch, just like Sanchez's hairband makes him look. Once this team makes it's switch from being Dcentric to OCentric, we'll start to see a huge improvement overall in the talent on that side of the ball. Rex just might survive this season afterall but it will be because he's the HDC. Idzik will have to force this team to draft Ocentric in 2014 no matter if Rex is here or not.
If Geno plays this way all season and cuts down on the turnovers and the Defense stays healthy I may have to revise my expectations...but I don't know how sustainable winning will be with no running game beyond Smith.
I thought Geno was fantastic at times..real cool cookie. The kid stays very very cool. Didnt see him sulking on the sidelines like past qbs. After they made the field goal with 38 left, you could see him on the sidelines clapping. Thats what I like to look for in a kid. I wasnt pleased with his preseason but I believe he has a foundation. Lets see.
