Overall it was a pretty impressive half by Geno for a rookie. What I really liked was his decisiveness and getting rid of the ball fast. This IMO is the most important quality in a QB. I also liked his competitiveness and picking himself after that run of bad plays. Rather than give up he fought back. Very good to see. He only had 3-4 bad plays all half. But those bad plays were costly. The fumble was a terrible play on his part. In that part of the field he needs to tuck the ball away no question. The INT was also a terrible play. He did the right thing on other plays killing the ball or throwing it away. I am guessing he was still upset about the fumble and was trying to do to much. I do like the number of times he has extended plays with his feet. A second very encouraging. He also showed a lot of poise except for those bad plays. He was not rushing or forcing the ball. Overall I thought the positives were: 1. Decisivenes 2. Poise 3. Not forcing balls 4. Extending plays with his feet 5. rebounding after that bad string of plays What he has to do int he 2nd half is simply not try to do to much and play smart and withing himself. Both turnovers were stupid plays where he tried to do to much and simply should have done what he did on other plays and thrown it away or just tucked it and run it.
Not so bad for a 32nd power ranking. I will take a half like that. Less than embarrassing. Fumble was on the O-line for Geno. Hope we see a return after half time for Kerley and Cumberland.
We'll see. The defense has played well enough, to keep us in the game, and the offense should improve, That game is only 17/14 at the half. Lets hope the Line can get it done going forward.
It was a Sanchez-esque performance - some flashes, some terrible decisions, a couple of turnovers and a TD Sanchez never really seemed to move on from this pattern - lets hope Smith will.
RT @TheJRob: The #Jets O could be in trouble in 2nd half with Cumberland, Kerley nursing probable head injuries in locker room
The throw ro Cumberland was good, until tue cheap shot. But the Bucs know they're going to have him throw down the middle.
The fumble was a typical rookie mistake - lack of pocket awareness. It should get better with more experience. The INT - not sure if it was receiver who stopped mid route or Geno misreading. I'm leaning toward reciever's error.
Some bad plays, some good plays, some decent runs. Honestly not much better or worse than we could have expected from Sanchez. Difference is Sanchez is a vet and Geno is playing his first career regular season game.
One thing I am impressed with is that we are holding Doug Martin down fairly well. 11 carries for 30 yards.
