Teddy Bridgewater is filthy. The best pocket passer in the nation and plays in a pro-style offense. Definitely worthy of a top 10 pick.

I'd also use a top 10 pick on Braxton Miller. Shades of Cam Newton. Major dual threat with the way he can throw and run. I expect him to win the Heisman this year and continue to absolutely flourish in Meyer's offense.

  2. As of right now Bridgewater is the only lock. He's a mature pocket passer w/ top notch decision making to go along w/ all the tools. There are some other guys worthy of first round picks & the upside to BECOME a top 10 pick.. but Bridgewater is the only sure thing.

Someone should start a thread about all the first round WRs coming out. That class is gonna be absolutely LOADED.

Kind of mad at myself for not throwing Mariota in the previous list.

I think Mariota could easily be the best quarterback out of everyone available when all is said and done. Needs to do it again, but I think he's my favorite quarterback prospect. Don't think he'll come out next year though.

Cam Newton was a wayyyyy better passer than Braxton Miller. Not even close. I don't think Miller is in my top 8 QB prospects that are draft-eligible next season. I would take Bridgewater, Mariota, Boyd, McCarron, Fales, Morris, Murray and Carr over him. Possibly others.

Bridgewater is the only QB I want.

This Jets team has not had a franchise QB in decades. We need a playmaker.

    Enough is enough.

Teddy Football is unreal. Just watching the first game this year and he's actually improved from last year. 400 yards passing and 5tds in less than 3 quarters.

I would gladly ensure a 2-14 season for this guy.

Yeah but he threw a pick. He's got work to do before he's a lock top 10 pick.

    /sarcasm

the only joy from a one or two or three win season would be getting Bridgewater or Clowney. Heck Boyd's looking pretty good early on.

yep Johnny football is mentally playing himself in to a 3rd or later round pick if he keeps up the immature crap.

if all things remain more or less going forward TB will be pick #1.

the intrigue may be the rest of the top five. Clowney has to be there but teams are gonna play close attention to his conditioning going forward.

regardless we are gonna have a QB heavy and a WR heavy first round.

IMHO, 2014 is going to be a very good year for QBs--as good as 2013 was weak.

Bridgewater will be a top 2 pick (barring injury of course).

If we're drafting in the low teens (lol), and Boyd is there we have to take him.

I love Mariota, like Murray, Fales and McCarron, have to see the rest.

But the really intriguing guy is Zach Mettenberger. Could rocket up the boards this year--big guy throws a great ball. Big year for him.

And Manziel is such a wild card--if Bridgewater, Boyd and Mariota are gone--I would not be upset if we drafted him. He would be entertaining.

Here's how I rank the draft-eligible QBs right now

    1. Bridgewater
    2. Mariota
    3. Boyd
    4. McCarron
    5. Manziel
    6. Hogan
    7. Hundley
    8. Carr
    9. Morris
    10. Logan Thomas

Honorable mention: David Fales, Bryn Renner, Aaron Murray, Braxton Miller. Want to see more of Casey Pachall, Chuckie Keeton, Zach Mettenberger, Devin Gardner and others.

Yes, Logan Thomas is still #10. When you're that big and athletic with that big of an arm, someone will take him and develop him.

Aaron Murray looks like Drew Brees circa 1999-2000 at Purdue. The game he's playing today is a ceiling game but it's damn good and he's got Clowney breathing down his neck a lot.

Edit: not a top 10 pick but early in the 2nd is looking likely.

I dont see the physical tools he needs to succeed at the NFL level. Drew Brees may be small like Murray, but Brees has a small rocket on his arm and the guy is one of the most accurate QBs ever in the NFL. He actually could be the most accurate QB ever.

Murray's got a decent arm. He's accurate and he's accurate on the move. He doesn't have quite the arm that Brees does but he has a lot of the other qualities, including leading his team to wins in a really tough conference.

I think he's got a pretty good shot at a 2nd round draft slot and maybe at the top of the round.

Thomas has the physical traits, but he is far from being an nfl prospect right now. As of today, I say he doesn't get drafted.

    Some observations from today's games.

Bridgewater is the real deal, notwithstanding the 57% completion today. He has a lightening quick release, moves really well in the pocket, goes through his progressions, scans the field, checks down at the right time, super accurate, tough as nails, throws well to the back shoulder, can run if he needs to but still looks down field, did I mention the quick release?

Johnny Football- I have to see more of his arm but he is an electric player. Made an awful throw that resulted in a miracle catch, but he threw some beautiful balls, ran really effectively, moves REALLY well in the pocket, if he has the time is incredibly accurate, throws a really nice touch pass, throws a great fade. Completed passes I didn't think he had any business throwing. Don't understand folks saying he can't play in the NFL, will be an exciting NFL QB.

AJ McCarron- my darkhorse- love his accuracy, mechanics, leadership. I think he's the next Matt Ryan.

Taped Oregon, have to see what Mariota did.
