Flacco can read defenses since when? The knock him is he stares down his receivers and forces ball into the first option.
Because you point out the same shit that people bashed Penny about know that he is gone he read defenses great has great pocket presence. Go back and watch preseason and some of the precision throws he made. On the play he got hurt he showed great pocket presence buying time and delivering a good pass. Sanchez issues is turnovers and more specific fumbles. The INT last year where mostly a product of his environment.
Funny how Flacco got bailed out by that idiot defender dropping the ball before crossing the goal line. That pick 6 was very reminiscent of Sanchez, but you know people won't be tearing Flacco apart in the media today. If it were Mark Sanchez in that same exact scenario, the media would be piling on him and talking about how terrible he is, but with Flacco it was just a great defensive play.
Flacco doesn't lead the league in turnovers the last 2 years. Flacco doesn't throw a lot of interceptions like Sanchez does. His career high of interceptions in a single season is less than Mark's career low. It hasn't been a common occurrence his entire career like it has been with Sanchez. That is why the media won't be piling on Flacco and would be if it were Sanchez.
he's on pace for 32 INTs. he's had more talent and better defenses around him his entire career. The media isn't piling on him b/c he just won a SB, before the SB run it was starting get hot down in Baltimore. If he doesn't play great the heat will be back on sooner than later b/c of the huge contract.
it's funny, the same folks here who go gaga over other QBs would want to run guys like Flacco, Eli, Rivers, Romo, etc... out of town. No one is ever good enough for the high standards of Jet fans!
So tell me about all this great talent then....i said when manning first got to denver not what he has today... Flacco has had shit other than ray rice and a decent to good wr in smith...thats it
And Manning is on pace for 112 TDs. Flacco has been to the playoffs every year he has been the starter. He has been to 3 AFC Championship games and won a Super Bowl. I would have thought you to be a huge fan of his. Are you only crazy about QBs that benefit from team success when they lose back to back AFC Championship games?
Sanchez rarely makes precision throws including this preseason. He made a few nice throws in preseason but was mostly not precise as usual.
It's true, Flacco has mostly been efficient with turnovers, but that was mostly before they turned into a pass first offense. Flacco, much like Sanchez, relied on a great defense, great running game and above average receivers. Now they have a defense full of holes, a pass first offense (despite Rice), and got rid of his best target in Boldin. Either way the point was that with the same exact circumstance, people will blame Sanchez, while with Flacco they credit the Broncos D. Past situations are irrelevant if you are trying to objectively analyze a certain play, at least based on logic.
outside of the new guys this year all the guys he had last year were already there and eh had boatloads of talent last year. maybe not quite as much as his average talent in Indy but top 1o talent. He's no dummy, he wasn't going to a team w/o talent- add in the weak division and it was a great mix. I like Flacco but Jet fans would hate him b/c we would have sucked the last 2 years w/ him and we'd run him out of town.
it's funny, here is Peter King on Flacco last night: http://mmqb.si.com/2013/09/06/manning-in-full/?sct=hp_wr_a2&eref=sihp How come no one talked about that last year w/ mark? the poor talent Flacco had last night was a million times better than what Mark had most of last year.
Until Flacco runs into Marshal Yanda's ass and gives up a fumble6, I'm thinking he's better than Sancho...
They would jump on Sanchez becasue that is what he has been doing nearly his entire career. It doesn't matter why you think Flacco has been efficient with turnovers. What matters is that he has been. It is not logical to harp on a guy for a couple of turnovers when he doesn't do it very often. It is very logical to harp on a guy who leads the league in turnovers the last 2 years. It's pretty simple. If Flacco starts turning the ball over like Sanchez has the same people that jump on Sanchez will jump on him. Maybe because Mark was really close to his career average of turnovers last year? Flacco was throwing to a 34 year old Mason and Mark Clayton his first couple of years but you didn't see him turning the ball over like Sanchez does. Did Mark not have decent receivers in 2009 when he threw 20 Ints? Did Mark not have decent receivers in 2011 when he threw 18 Ints? He didn't have good receivers last year yet 3 out of his 4 years he has thrown 18 or more picks each season. He threw the same amount of picks with poor talent at WR as he did when he had Holmes Burress Kerley and Keller. 2010 when he only threw 13 picks was the aberration. Not the other 3 years.
Derrick Mason was a still a top WR in this game his first few years in Baltimore, Sanchez got him when he was washed up. In 2009 he had decent receivers but got his best guy in week 5 and had no offseason w/ him. In 2011 3 of his top 4 weapons in the pass game were out of football in 2012. That should tell you something.
Don't the jets have to guarantee Quinns contract by not waiting till after week 1 to sign him? This mean that his contract is guaranteed for the season. Why?
