Don't do that...hey, you NEVER know...I always ride it out til' the end.

I WILL say this, though, almost 90 points out of 3 guys on day one is NOT a bad way to start!

I don't know the guys in mine...I'm randomly playing in one of the free NFL ones hoping to win that ultimate prize of picking the Pro Bowl Roster and going to Hawaii. This was a great way to start! lol

I'm sure if I did know him...tears would have been involved. :rofl2:

Ours is in it's 10th year running..... the draft party is an excuse to get the guys together. My brother flies down from NYC, friends drive up from S.FL, and basically we act like degenerates, as the previous years winner buys the keg (or equivalent) for the party, with a piece of the winnings...... Not quite a free trip, but One year I did buy 3/4 of a plane ticket to hawaii with my 1st place winnings. :)

but if it wasn't for our get-together, I'd probably retire by now.

So which lesson did we learn last night? Are the Broncos that amazing or are the Ravens just super overrated?

IMO, That the Broncos offense is going to be hard to stop, and if they get rolling they will turn any team into a pass happy team which could play right into their defense's hands. I don't think Denver is 7 TDs blow you out every game good, nor do I think Baltimore is that bad, but Denver tonight proved that last year was NOT a fluke. And when u have a balanced team that is forced to throw SIXTY TWO times , this will usually be the result. Flacco wasn't great but 350+ 2 TDs and 2INTs doesn't look nearly as bad if Manning doesn't go 450+ 7/0.

Who overrated the Ravens? I personally thought they would have a down year because of some of the players they lost in the off season.

The Ravens were never very good last year. Now they are much worse after their off-season exodus. They had a great run last in last years playoff but if they played the Broncos 20 times last year in the playoffs their win might have been the only one. The chances of the Ravens winning that game were sort of like the chances of Sanchez hitting a receiver in the hands or Hobbes waking up, taking his meds and then writing a non delusional post. Yes these things can happen but they are pretty rare. The Broncos were a much better team and absent some very bad luck would have beaten the Raven and denied Flacco his $120 million dollar contract.

Its a long season and the first game of the year rarely means much. But there was a reason the Broncos were 7.5 point favorites. Wes Welker looked very good and that TE Julius Thomas. Wow he is a beast. Add in Thomas and Decker and they have some weapons. But my concern with Denver is protecting Manning. When they lost McGahee and Moreno to injuries in the playoff game last year Manning started taking a beating. Hillman was awful in pass protection. Can Ball and Moreno effectively run the ball and block. Manning needs a 3 down back who can audible into runs but also protect him. Asking that of a rookie and of Moreno might be a lot to ask. I know Manning is pretty amazing at avoiding hits with his calls at the line and his ability to slide in the pocket but he is getting old and I wonder if Manning can survive an entire years worth of hits.

I have no clue who you are but you must be an old poster w/ a new account if you are talking about the Herm days but not one thing you wrote is correct. Congrats, I quoted your post so now you can brag to all your friends.

Ravens aren't as good as last year and they are going to have a tough time defending. It's early to say the Broncos are THE favorite, their defense still looked suspect at times (They are getting some key players back though) and had some trouble when the game was close before it turned into a blowout.

Why would I want to brag about being quoted by a delusional arrogant self promoting lunatic whose only claim to fame is spending years spam posting a message board fighting a number of never ending lost cause crusades.

There is a difference between people laughing with you and people laughing at you. Sadly you long ago moved from the former to the latter. Which is sad as I think you actually mean well. You have unending optimism and iMO you are a true Jet fan. In that sense you are very likeable. But just when people to start to like you and feel sorry for you kill it with all these arrogant I am better than you posts. Such as your I am more educated than other Jet fans posts. Your just an average football fan and I know better than you posts. And now your I should be honored that someone as great as you talked to me post.

When you put your statements together with your multi year personal crusades (such as your 4 year long Herm is the greatest coach ever crusade, Pennington crusade and Sanchez crusade) it all makes sense. Your self aggrandizing delusional statements really do fit in with your never ending crusade posts to form a pretty messed up personality. You feel so much superior to all the people you call idiots on this board because as you say you have so much more knowledge which then gives you the right to not only spam lecture people but then talk down to everyone and just call everyone else who dares disagree with you stupid. But to prove your feelings of superiority you have to to show everyone how great you are you and then never let go for years while insulting all who question your greatness. It is a never ending calling of attention to yourself as your always trying to prove to others how great you are. But when everyone constantly rejects your greatness then you have to insult them to show their inferiority and invent all the crazy manifestations of reality that you have created over the years. Therapy, self reflection and counseling can help with these delusions of self grandeur and help you to better accept reality. But then again that might mean less less crazy posts and less amusement for all the people that read these boards.

My apologies is this is a bit harsh. But it is one thing to spam the boards and tell everyone else they are wrong for year after year and that you are the only one who knows better. But it is another thing to do this while repeatedly insulting anyone that disagrees you. Questioning their intelligence, knowledge and right to an opinion. Which you happen to do over and over. In other words it is fine to be quirky, odd, strange and disagreeable but it is not ok to be quirky, odd, strange and disagreeable while being mean, arrogant and insulting. That is where you cross the line.

It's a message board, I don't take it seriously but it appears you have some major issues w/ someone you don't know and have never interacted w/ but thank you for being a fan.
