Ty Law never faced Mark Sanchez period. The only year they were in the same league was 2009 and Law was with Denver, and the Broncos didn't play the Jets that year.

Rex was just on the radio and made mention of the possibility that in the next few days action may be taken in regards to having 4 QBs on the roster. My guess would be that if Geno performs adequately, Sanchez will be gone before the Pats game.

Law may not have been a Patriot, or anyone that played against the Jets and Sanchez. But the statement still is pretty accurate.

As a QB, or any position really, you are one of 3 things.
    1) Your a player who's "stats" is a plus towards your team winning a game.
    2) your a player who's "stats" are neutral neither harming or improving your teams chances to win a game.
    3) your a player who's "stats" are minus towards your team winning a game.

For a QB especially your a + to your teams odds of winning a game by doing two or more of the following. Put up a lot of yardage, put up a lot of points, limiting turnovers.

Your neutral to your teams chances of winning if you are a game manager who doesn't put up much in the way of numbers but don't turn the ball over. You can also be neutral if you have high turnovers but put up a lot of points.

Your a negative to your teams chances if you have "game manager" stats but turn the ball over or otherwise turn the ball over more than you score even if you put up big score numbers.

Sanchez has had 1 season, 2010 where he basically was the bottom end of the 2nd type of QB and 3 seasons where he's been the third type of QB.

Over his career he's put up 80 TD's between rushing an throwing and he's turned the ball over (not counting fumbles recovered by the Jets or dropped picks) 89 times. That's a -9 turnover to TD.

he's had ONE bad year, he's helped us win a lot of games through the years. he was in an impossible situation a year ago.

He has had 2 horrendous years, and 2 years where he rode on the defenses coat tails.. I wouldn't call him "Good" in those years that we went to the AFCCG.

2009: good year for a rookie
    2010: top 8-12
    2011: mid of the pack
    2012: bottom 3

anyone who thinks he was bad as a rookie or that we had this out of this world run game in 2009 just looks at fantasy #s.

I understand all of the points for where Mark got us and blah blah blah..

    Talent or no talent...

Mark is still inaccurate. Still poor at reading coverages. He doesn't protect the football. He plays small.

2010... The following QB's were better than Mark Sanchez.

    Aaron Rodgers
    Drew Bress
    Peyton Manning
    Tom Brady
    Tony Romo
    Matt Schaub
    Phillip Rivers
    Brett Favre
    Jay Cutler
    Joe Flacco
    Matt Ryan
    Eli Manning

He belongs nowhere in that list... According to your reasoning, Trent Dilfer was a top 5 QB when they won the Super Bowl in 2000. And in 2002 when the Bucs won, Brad Johnson Top 5.

This is tunnel vision. You're bolstering your position by focusing on the negatives and ignoring the positives.

This is sort of black and white thinking is useless in a debate.

Further, nobody believes Sanchez is elite or even very good. The real debate is whether he can be effective as an NFL quarterback or not.

So going with "Mark sucks despite what he's done" is tired and doesn't advance anything except maybe your own self comfort in your flawed position.

Eli Manning was awful that year. He had a shit ton of TOs including in the final couple games to eliminate them from playoff contention.

so you think he was #13? that's not bad, right?

    Aaron Rodgers- better
    Drew Bress- better
    Peyton Manning- better
    Tom Brady - better
Tony Romo-played 6 games, was 1-5 as starter. mark was better
Matt Schaub- great fantasy #s, again led more talented team to missing playoffs- Mark was better
Phillip Rivers-had #1 ranked D and couldn't win weak division but I will give nod to Rivers.
Brett Favre- 11 TDs, 19 INTs, 5-8 record. can we please be serious?
Jay Cutler- on same level, can go either way
Joe Flacco- on same level, can go either way
    Matt Ryan- better
Eli Manning- TWENTY FIVE INTs including 4 in agme that decided their playoff fate. mark was better.

    6 definite better
    2 either way
4 he was definitely better than

I made a mistake, he was more 7-9 than 8-12.

He's obviously not serious or has absolutely no clue what he is talking about when he includes Romo who barely played and Favre who was awful.
