Of course he will talk, they all do. I will miss his skills, but not the person.

They are paying MEvi$ $16M dollars a year, or $1M a game and he may not even play game 1. He needs to give them something.

Revis can given them each players weaknesses or tells. Also, he knows everything about Rex's defense as a whole. There is a lot of helpful info he can be giving them.

Get over it. He was asked a direct question about it in a press conference and he answered it. Stop acting like a jilted ex-girlfriend.

It's overrated anyway. Rex's D really has no secrets anymore. He and his brother have been doing what they DO for a long time now.

He'll mix his blitzes up and keep guys coming from all over - the Bucs and the rest of the league know this already.

Nothing Revis tells about the D is going to help Freeman when it's 3rd and 9 and the Jets bring 7 guys at him - that's exactly what they are expecting anyway.

Rex and Rob don't even run the same defensive style.

And Rex may have been running the same scheme for a long time, but even a guy like Jason Taylor who had been playing defense for a long time said he actually had to be on the team to understand what Rex does in terms of philosophy. It's not as simple as just mixing up a bunch of blitzes and keeping guys coming from all over.

Fair enough, perhaps I was a little overly simplistic, just looking at blitzes. But either way I don't think there's a whole lot of "secrets" for Revis to tell - scheme-wise.

They might get a little "Holmes HATES to be jammed at the line - he gets frustrated easily"
or "Wilson is slow laterally, they try to cover that up." But that has more to do with individual players and less "secret" schemes. I don't think there's a whole lot of secrets in this league in general.

Everyone knows Rex brings the house on 3rd down. It's painfully obvious at this point.

It seems more disturbing that Geno is not watching any film of Revis.

Not sure about the offensive part either. Revis is a film hound and he excels at reading receivers pre-snap to know what they are doing before they even begin their routes. He played against Holmes, Kerley and Hill in practice a lot and up close and he'll be able to give his teammates tells on how they line up and behave for certain routes.

And if you watch the guy when he's lining up on the receiver, his eyes always end up on the center. No doubt he's been able to figure out a few things about Nick Mangold's grip on the ball and body behavior depending on a run or a pass.

People are selling Revis short in this thread.

I'm sure he's sharing a lot of what he saw from the bench and at his "good" friend Geiger's house, happily!

#1 rule for Sunday for Geno. Find 24 and don't throw anywhere near him. Ever.

    Exactly!

Revis may know the receivers tendencies entering or coming out of a break but that doesn't mean much in a system designed to get the receivers separation unlike what he's witnessed while with the Jets the past few years. Different systems bring about different results.

I will give him this, what makes Revis the player he is so far in his career is his positioning and knowledge of player speed on certain plays. That comes from film study and personal experience.

That doesn't mean it translates to his teammates. You can show people things on film 1,000x but seeing it in person and reacting to that is way different and its what makes him different then other corners in the league. How many corners and safeties that have been in the league for years still don't know when to turn and face the ball to make a play. You can't fix stupid.

Revis isn't the speediest guy so I expect a more dramatic fall for him after he loses a step, the question I want to see Sunday is did the injury start that fall or not.

I cant blame Revis for being a “show me the money” guy. He has major skills and that is what gets you paid in the NFL...usually.

You see folks we ponied up a huge contract to Sanchez way before he put the numbers up to warrant it. When you give a mediocre QB a huge paycheck and the best CB in the league an average one it doesn’t sit well in the locker room or on the budget. The truth is we should have gave Revis the money we instead gave Sanchez. It could be said we lost Revis because of the money we gave Sanchez - budget wise and image wise.

So I cant blame Revis for being a show me the money guy. I blame our management.

Since when does being the highest paid CB in the league make your contract average? Do you even investigate facts before you start typing bullshit? Clearly not.

Where did the whole "Geno not watching any film of Revis" thing come from anyway? Revis's comments were the first I heard of it.

Anyway, it's Revis - don't throw at him. How much film do you need to watch to figure that out?

Exactly. When the Yankees played the Rays & he threw out the first pitch, I'm surprised he didn't hold out to be able to close the game.
