I didn't like the pick to begin with but I hope he's the real deal and can help us win some games. Bonus would be if he's good enough that even when Sanchez is healthy enough to come back that we don't even have to think about it and we keep Geno in for the year to see what he's got. It's going to be far too dramatic and annoying if he struggles or just plays like complete garbage and then Sanchez is coming back and they have to make that decision to put Sanchez back in or keep playing Geno to see if he can get used to the NFL speed and whatnot and see if he has the potential to be our #1 going forward or if we're going to have to look elsewhere after this year. If he only gets two games that's not a large enough sample size. Especially playing the Pats in one of those games.
LOL!!!!! I can agree with this....we've all been talking about defenses and the media...what about the FANS!!! When he is in his own "house" and starts hearing the chants for Simms (which will come at some point) if he is doing poorly...how will he respond? He isn't at "whatever homer college" anymore where they have blind love at that level. Having said that, I pray for his health, stay on his feet, throw accurately and the receivers to actually catch the damn ball. That is what it's going to take because if you think we are putting a "buck-fifty" on the Tampa d-line and lb'ers....you are seriously dreaming. Go Geno!!!!
What's the over/under on number of screen passes this week? I'm going with 9.5 and I'll take the over.
It is what it is when you break your "best chance to win". We knew it wouldn't be Quinn and clearly they don't like Simms against the 1s. Or maybe they just want to see if we need a QB or Clowney next year....either way, "The Jets are on the Clock"
I'll take the under on this one. The primary STRENGTH of the Tampa defense is the line and the lb'ers. They KNOW that is going to be the Jets game. Guarantee you on that one. No sir, the Tampa defense is all about making Geno Smith beat them up top. It's the one thing he did exceptionally poor at in the limited time we've seen him this preseason. I will not be shocked if he has to toss the rock over 30 times on Sunday.
Jay...I see a child to the left there...where's that child's green and white?!!? FAIL!!! :rofl2:
I think us fans are making to much of Geno only start against Giants. Yes he had 3ints and yes he ran out the back of the endzone. But he is a rookie and we will have up and downs. I think like the Jets Geno going to surprise some people. I seen this guy play alot of games at wv and he a very smart QB and doesn't make the same mistake twice.
and Schiano knows Geno's tendencies from gameplanning against him while at RU. Though that was just college and 2 years ago.
