It's entirely possible the Jets win this game. They're 3-point underdogs at home...that's the spread, anyway. Can't go by that. Anything could happen, and probably will, if that makes sense. Fans should try to have fun with it regardless, if you ask me. I'm stoked for week 1.
This is a winnable game. And if the Jets hope to be a .500 club this year it's a game they have to win. With low expectations there seems to be not too much pressure on the team this season. If Geno plays expect mistakes but some good things too, like moving the ball and scoring touchdowns. IMO Freeman makes more mistakes than Geno. And with some TOP the defense plays well. Jets 21 Bucs 17.
White pants after labor day? Jesus....this franchise never learns. Crossing fingers for a 17-14 win. BTW, if anyone knows a sports bar in Cleveland to watch (picked wrong week to be out of town), much appreciated.
So far the Jets for some reason haven't even named a starter at Qb as of yet (Tuesday). Even the Raiders named Pryor today. I know there are injury concerns and even rumors of negotiations between Mark and the team as far as a release (but I don't believe it). In spite of what they say it looks like disagreement inside the organization and coaching staff. It's only five days before the game. If it's Geno and Mark isn't practicing then why not just name him. To me another example of Amateur Hour and to me this falls on the GM.
lol Beezer was joking that the Jets were guilty of breaking a fashion rule-of-thumb by wearing 'white' too late in the season - the general rule being that the "season" for wearing summer whites (either jacket or pants) is between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
I was just kidding*. It's their uniform, obviously they can wear whatever the hell they want. * It's a high society fashion rule going way back. http://content.time.com/time/nation/article/0,8599,1920684,00.html
One nice thing about this game is that it is a very winnable game. It's not like opening on the road against the Seahawks or something. Hopefully the Jets can do enough to win, silence the critics for a week and make us fans happy.
IF we do have a chance of winning this game, it will be because of our Defense. I can see Mevis having a field day with Geno.
TB is down a key guy on the OL, Jets D will be all over Freeman and Martin (who is still a little banged up). Look for big games out of Wilkerson and Richardson. Geno will play okay, with a few rookie mistakes, but no disastrous Sanchez-like mistakes.
they are trolling the media. after the unprofessional manner in which the beat reporters have been acting, this their way of saying fuck you. the starter will be named when the injury report comes out and no one will be getting official information before that. its good for the franchise to gain back some of the control from the trolls that have been trying to undermine the team for the last few years.
Jets take this 23-14. They're generally pretty good when counted out. especially now everyone is piling on before they've even played a real game (heck they've done pretty well in their fake games too) I think behind closed doors Rex is really preaching "us vs the world"
