Jets claimed RB Alex Green off waivers from the Packers.

Green averaged just 3.4 YPC on 135 attempts last season, and he didn't show much this preseason. The former third-round pick just hasn't looked the same since tearing his ACL in his rookie year of 2011. Green will slide in as the Jets' No. 3 back, ahead of Kahlil Bell and behind Chris Ivory and Bilal Powell.

Alex Green was a decent RB from my Alma mater Hawai‘i, but yes the ACL injury has changed his running style a bit.

Who is getting cut for this guy? I'd personally rather stick with Bell.

I'm pretty sure Goodson will be ranked ahead of this 'beast' by the CS... tbh I'd rather keep Bell as our 4th.

Bell showed he deserves a shot in this league so I'm not sure why he would lose a spot to this guy?

Idzik is going overboard now. Bell earned his spot on the team.

The #Patriots have cut RB-KR Leon Washington, per source. Should get lots of looks elsewhere. #Jets #Seahawks.

He cannot be the same player, as much as I love Leon, don't think so

I actually like Green's potential, nice blend of speed and power. It's kind of fucked up to Bell though. He earned the spot.

As far as I'm concerned, we have no kick returner. It wouldn't be a terrible idea to see what Leon has left. He could also be a mentor to Powell and Goodson who have similar playing styles.

He has to be better than post ACL Green. At the very least he could be our kick returner.

For everyone calling the rb core a steamy pile of crap, etc. Would you rather have Plod Greene?

That's because it is, bell has far more upside.
