Jets claimed RB Alex Green off waivers from the Packers. Green averaged just 3.4 YPC on 135 attempts last season, and he didn't show much this preseason. The former third-round pick just hasn't looked the same since tearing his ACL in his rookie year of 2011. Green will slide in as the Jets' No. 3 back, ahead of Kahlil Bell and behind Chris Ivory and Bilal Powell.
Alex Green was a decent RB from my Alma mater Hawai‘i, but yes the ACL injury has changed his running style a bit.
I'm pretty sure Goodson will be ranked ahead of this 'beast' by the CS... tbh I'd rather keep Bell as our 4th.
meanwhile ... Dennis Waszak Jr. @DWAZ73 3m The #Patriots have cut RB-KR Leon Washington, per source. Should get lots of looks elsewhere. #Jets #Seahawks.
I actually like Green's potential, nice blend of speed and power. It's kind of fucked up to Bell though. He earned the spot. As far as I'm concerned, we have no kick returner. It wouldn't be a terrible idea to see what Leon has left. He could also be a mentor to Powell and Goodson who have similar playing styles.
For everyone calling the rb core a steamy pile of crap, etc. Would you rather have Plod Greene? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk 2
