I saw this quote on a blog today:

I don't like the idea of letting a nation get away with using gas on its own people (just from some post WWI standards even the friggin' Nazis abided by for the most part), but it has been done before and we stayed out completely. And we don't even know where the gas came from. Right now, I have to give it a thumbs down, just for the halfass lack of committment going into this if nothing else.

This President is a fucking joke.

He has said repeatedly, on matters of DOMESTIC policy, if Congress wont act I will.

Now when the rubber meets the road, he says....."well maybe not"

I told you this in 08.

    You're welcome.

The House will fuck him over.

The smart play politically was to start lobbing missles, so it would look like Congress was deserting troops in action.

He isnt even smart enough to game that out.

Why? You want the president to override our will to start another festival of bullshit?

McCain also blamed Obama for the gas attacks. Thank God we didn't get stuck with him.

Well to be fair, a lot of Democrats apparently feel the same.

The Twitter account of the Democrats on the House Foreign Affairs Committee re-posted McCain's tweet with "Yes" posted over it.

Again, you amuse me with your complete lack of understanding (willful or otherwise).

The methodology of science allows for the search for answers to specific questions with the understanding that you must be able to falsify whatever it is that you are testing. A scientific hypothesis is not pure conjecture. The strength of a claim does not reside on how much I want to believe something or how much it "seems" to be right; the strength of a claim is based on how well it can be supported by the evidence. So when you mockingly say I am man of "proof and truth" who is "working in a field of theory," because I question the veracity of a source (based on years of evidence), you are simply showing everyone that you have no idea what you are talking about and are just trolling.

    So... troll on, I guess.

Is John McCain on crack? He wants to "upgrade" the Free Syrian Army ? Does he realize who makes up the FSA?

I have no doubt congress will vote for a strike, the whole "seeking their approval" bs the other day was nothing but smoke being blown up our asses. You do not send 6 warships to the area for nothing

We can only hope at this point.

Right now the US is a house divided and an open-ended military commitment would probably destroy us.

If you listen to anything McCain and Graham said today it's quite apparent this is about Iran and not Syria. We're fucked.......

while its impossible to predict the ramifications of any military action by the USA or its "allies". i do believe they potentially outweigh the benefit of military action.....

i get the feeling a potential strike is being forced upon us - citing lab evidence of sarin and showing pictures of hundreds dead, including children.

is this something the current administration needs to have on their bucket list to make us feel cozy and safe?? while a 1-2 week missile campaign would no doubt hit some sort of paydirt, the peripheral and lasting effects will no doubt just inflame the region more and serve as another springboard for more intense fanatical western hate. and what to do afterwards the strikes?? maybe this will just be a hit and run effort to prove the USA does have a backbone these days.

it is interesting to watch/listen/read the tactical press conferences, media reporting, and expressions of those discussing this. the last thing most at the WH and supporting want is any comparison with iraq.
