Nonsense.. Parcells took a team that was 1-15 and almost made the playoffs the very next year. He won a division championship and got as far as the AFC championship game. The next year he lost his QB and came back with the likes of Ray Lucas leading the way and almost made the playoffs again. He has made every team he went to better and won Superbowls. Rex Ryan on the other hand inherited a team that was 8-3 with Favre before he got hurt and then rode it for two years. He knows only defense - allegedly, glomming off of Marvin Lewis' success and claiming it as his own - and can't in actuality coach his way out of a paper bag. Which he has proven in spades the last two years bringing in awful players that he foisted upon the clueless MT.
^This troll is still here? He inherited a mediocre D and turned them into the best D in the league. Mark Sanchez went to the AFC title game twice!!! That was all Rex Ryan. Our offense is actually moving the ball. With a tough D to back them up, we will likely be middle of the pack or better, especially with the late season schedule. Jets are ranked #2 in the preseason in passing YPG, 6th in scoring. It's the opposite of last preseason. You have to take that stat with at least a 50% margin of error, so there you go. A mediocre O with a top 5 D will get you to the playoffs. 11 is a bit generous, but I really like MM, I think he's totally changing the nature of our offense. I just can't understand the doomsday predictions of 3-5 wins. They don't make any sense. People must be off their rocker to think we'll be WORSE than last year.
We'll be one of those middle of the pack teams at least. I wouldn't be surprised if we are in contention for a wild card late in the season.
What marlarky....if Rex didn't know offense, how they heck did he manage get to 2 AFCC titles with a QB like M Sanchez? ....it wasn't all defense.....Bill had Vinny Testaverde and Curtis Martin and still failed to advance. The 1999-2000 Jets were head and shoulders the more superior team to the 2010 and most of those players were inherited from the 1-15 team - including Wayne Chrebet and Keyshawn Johnson
Well if you watched Superbowl III, then you had the pleasure of being alive and seeing the Jets win a Super Bowl. I would call you fortunate. So maybe you should stop trying to act like you have it so much worse because you've had to wait 40 plus years since the Jets won a Superbowl. News flash, AT LEAST the Jets have actually won a Superbowl in your lifetime. Hang your hat on that bro. A lot of us can't say that. So, again, I'm a fan of this team and I have nothing to be pissed about this season because it hasn't happened yet. Being so negative all the time has to be extremely exhausting, has to be, but you are the lucky one weather you see it or not.
I guess only the Giants are allowed to win more than 1 SB in NY ... they must REALLY be the lucky ones!
All you have to do is look at the threads created after a loss, this threw is a fact. How many Petty threads do we need, all with the same objective or fire Bowles threads, if you need to create a thread to convince others that Bowles is a idiot, than this board is hopeless
