To me, pre-season does not tell the story. Some guy looks good for a quarter or two, or bad, for that matter, does not translate to awfulness for an entire game-or a season. Running backs? Our running backs can run. No Shonn Greenes here seeking contact. The line has to come around and that takes time with two new guys, one of whom was cut and another who missed time. No, I have seen teams have awful pre-seasons before and be okay in the regular season. Our O C is at least 5 times better than our last O C. I may want Rex gone but he can still coach D. There will be the same dumb game management decisions Rex always makes. All things being equal, I say we win more than 6.
Our D alone should get us at least 5 games. I think Marty is capable enough to put an offense on the field to bring us 2-3 good games 3-13 is stupid. We will win in the range of 7-9 games imho
I can totally see this team going 3-13, and even that may be optimistic. While the D is loaded with talent, I don't see them bringing it together this year. Just a feeling. And as I stated in another thread, I don't see the offense putting up even decent numbers. I'll still watch every single game and cheer as I always do, as I love my Jets, but I believe with everything in my this is going to be a dismal season, and Rex's last as our HC. I wish we could have just started fresh with a new HC this year, but I can understand, a little anyway, giving Rex one more shot. I would love to be proved wrong, believe me. I've been a fan of this team since the 7O's, and am tired of watching bad football. I just don't see much good this year from a team standpoint. Not at all.
Man, look at the schedule pre-bye. They could easily be 1-9. I am a dark sider, though, or am a newly converted dark sider I guess. I just don't see 7 wins on that schedule.
downgraded running game. Same horrible QBs only now shuffled around all season causing even less staibility. a worse defense, at least early, with coples out. a tougher schedule, with division bottom dwellers improving more rapidly then we are. we can play better then last year and still have a worse record. we played some god awful teams. look at the cardinals game. rarely u can get away with playinf that poorly and still win.
Yet the cards started 4-0 last season and looked like a serious playoff team until their line was obliterated by injuries... we just don't know how things will shake out. I think you're being overly pessimistic.
going for a defensive end in a loaded WR and QB draft is kind of a joke if we ever get the first overall pick
What will you do if Jets don't have that many wins by then? Admit you were wrong, make excuses, or blame the media?
Jets will go 9-7 or 10-6. That's my prediction. I think they'll surprise a lot of people. Maybe I'm just too sunshinny.
We still need a true edge rusher and if the draft is loaded at QB and WR we can get guys later Round 1- Jadeveon Clowney Round 2- Jeff Matthews Round 3- Jordan Matthews Even though stocks may fluctuate but you don't pass on an elite talent Clowney takes our D to the next level and with O a couple years from consistency due to the team having no direction at HC and QB you don't force it
Firstly, we won't be shitty enough to get #1 overall and if we do, why draft Clowney? Our DL is loaded. We need a QB.
The negativity is nonsensical right now. Vegas gives us 6.5 wins, knowing the money wil come in heavy on the under. They say 7, I say 6 to 9. We will absolutely not be worse than last season. No way.
