I fully expect that our final roster of 53 will be supported by at least two or three players currently not with the Jets. As I see it our GM will be pretty busy scouring the waiver wire searching for back up talent in a couple of areas. 1) First and foremost - Offensive tackle. We need depth here badly IMHO 2) LB both OLB and ILB 3) A bit of a surprise here but a CB. I do see K Wilson on his way out What do you guys think?Any other needs besides the obvious challenge at QB?
We can't afford to lose Wilson due to a lack of depth at Saftey and CB ,he's not getting cut this year
Agreed...as bad a K Wilson is on the edge he is a fantastic nickle/dime guy in the slot. He's not getting cut. We definitely need to look into O-line and Lb'er...possibly RB as well. I just am not sold on Ivory and couldn't care less about Goodson right now. As far as I can tell Powell, Bell and Madu have shown more than Goodsen...obviously.

New England cuts both Jake Ballard and Daniel Fells ..... have to wonder if Tebow is now a lock to stick.
Ballard and Fells could be worth consideration. I'm not sold on Reuland at all, although he does contribute on ST.
Anyone else hoping NE cuts Leon Washington? a nice reunion and could be our answer at KR, and compete with Goodson for 3rd down action.
Guys like Sean Locklear, Jammal Brown, Winston Justice and Jared Gaither are still out there and could provide some depth. If one of our tackles go down, we're in trouble.
We desperately need some speed and athleticsm throughout the LB corps. Maybe keep an eye on the Niners LB cuts as they seem to be plenty deep at that position according to some pundits. They mentioned these two guys specifically as on the bubble. ILB Nate Stupar. The backup linebacker is one of the players who consistently stood out during offseason practices. He's presumably behind Michael Wilhoite (a shoe-in for the 53-man roster in my opinion) and draft pick Nick Moody. There may not be room for Stupar. Then again, he's a hyper-diaper personality on the field, and the 49ers may conclude that's the sort of crazy they want on special teams (see: Costanzo, Blake). Psquad eligible: Yes OLB Cam Johnson. When at his best at the University of Virginia, Johnson was a very good edge rusher. The problem was that he never was consistently at his best. Still, Johnson is on top of the injuries that slowed him last season and the 49ers no longer have Parys Haralson eating a roster spot. Besides, someone has to salvage the clunker that the 2012 draft class has become. I would be absolutely shocked if the Patriots cut Tebow. I truly think that Belichick is so spiteful that he will sacrifice a roster spot to keep Tebow, just so that he can run some wildcat plays against the Jets in a goal line situation.
Because he isn't very good. He's getting up there in age and while he can still return kicks he's not much of a RB.
