To say the least he did not have a solid preseason and then last night he's in the the 3rd team. I'm not buying that Rex wanted to see him as a kick returner. Fact is he's a terrible returner. I believe there is a good chance Wilson gets traded. I know Milliner injury complicates things but I believe they have confidence in Walls, Trufant and Lankster.
Kyle Wilson starts on many other teams. As bad as you might think he is, he starts on a lot of teams in this league.
I'm sure it's an experiment to have him return kicks. Cro has done it. And you're down one (albeit crappy) kick returner with McKnight cut. I'm sure it was just a tryout of sorts. And for as poor as he plays, no he's not going anywhere.
I don't see it. I could see him maybe winning a starting job somewhere, but I seriously doubt anyone would give up anything to get him. It's not like the Jets are so deep in great DBs that he's a victim of numbers.
If the Jets could get a pick for him Wilson would likely be gone at this point. He's not a good CB and he's near the end of his rookie deal.
I read speculation on NFL.com he could get traded. I just don't see it folks. It's a pipe dream just like Sancho getting traded. PS. What happened to Wilson having his "best training camp yet?" Some BS that was Rex you fucking idiot. I hate when he talks up players, and they don't prove him right. It just makes you not want to believe anything he says in the first place.
I honestly never heard of Darrin Walls prior to this pre-season. It's sad but he looks much better than Mr Boise State. It's such a shame. I was so pumped about that pick.
Whoa, I agree he's played lost ever since his first snap against Baltimore in 2010, but simply cutting our starting nickel corner given the injury concerns with Millner seem premature.
they arn't cutting him. 1) He knows the D 2) He can play inside and outside in said D 3) He can play in the Big safty package 4) Milliner is a rookie 5) Rex loves DB depth 6) he's not as bad as some here make him out to be
Wilson makes Drew Coleman look like Deion....if we could trade him for a conditional pick based on number of times he celebrates a pass break up despite being nowhere near we could end up with a 1st rd pick!
Wilson played bad against the Lions, and he's played bad before that, we all know it. But Wilson is better than many starting corners in this league.
He's not very good and he gets picked on a lot by opposing teams. The thing is, we do have DB depth and its really good depth. Which makes someone like Kyle Wilson expendable. It just does. I don't truly think they will cut him either but it's very possible. If you were completely confident and not on the roster bubble then he wouldn't be in the game last night. The only reason Jarret was in there is because that was the final phase at the safety position. What were they needing to figure out with Wilson? Why would they need him in there if he was a lock on this roster? I think it is possible he is on the roster bubble, either that or Rex is sending a strong message to KW. I don't know but something is happening there.
We all know he is having neck problems and now hes complaining his hands are hurting for clapping while celebrating after every overthrown ball or drop by a WR.
To be fair, he should of had Safety help over the top in that Giants game.. Again, I know he has done it before, but can you really blame him going against Hakeem Nicks? He's not as fast as many receivers, he's not as big as many receivers, if he plays on the outside, he needs the safety help just as much as almost all other corners in this league.
