Oh yes ladies and gentlemen, its "official", haha. Seriously though, i've stated before that I liked Simms and am hoping the first time I really stick my neck out for an unproven quarterback, it doesn't blow back in my face. It really annoys me personally when people get all hyped over a player for no legitimate reason. So I will completely understand any negative comments towards myself in this thread. The goal here is to within the next 3-4 hours (After Jets vs. Eagles game) this thread will exhibit new and current Simms supporters and set forth a movement of support for my only real hope of having good play at the quarterback position this year. (Well at least better than Geno and Sanchez). Either that or I hide for a couple of days!!
Can't really blame Simms on that, 4 man blitz and 2 guys just burst through without missing a step. That being said, he was never ready to start anyways.
neither simms nor McElroy will get any chance of that in the so-called "open competition" . be careful in the future believing anything you hear from idjzic.
I'm about where you are. I know it makes little sense to think that a guy that went undrafted, hung around on our practice squad for a year, got re-signed on a futures contract and has pretty much nothing resembling a college resume should be an NFL starting QB. And I really didn't give much of a shit about when Brett Ratliff had a couple of good preseason games for the Jets, and as efficient as Greg McElroni looks, he is about as exciting to watch as a rice cake floating in a bowl of warm milk. But Simms is fucking exciting as hell to watch in the very limited time I've seen him. I want to see more of him. I know it's also likely that if he ever got the chance to start, that he would probably be absolutely terrible, but... well, the rest of our options seem equally terrible at this point. Eh. Much ado about nothing, because he has zero chance of ever seeing daylight from the bottom of the depth chart if he makes the 53. Still, I want to see more of this guy.
The only thing proven about Simms is that there is nothing proven about Simms. So either way, there is no true portrayal anyone can say to be true, good or bad. And sadly this point will remain to be true with Simms having little to no chance of playing during the season.
Yea cause a 3rd string defense can severely affect a QBs accuracy n arm strength, something your boy Sanchez lacks. And wow one quarter in and Simms still has an arm to throw another thing your savior the Sanchize lacks.
You read my mind about Ratliff, he was fun to watch during the pre season but i left it at that and thought nothing more of such.
