a little biased long are we not? Sanchez can throw a short pass with accuracy when he struggles with short passes it is a usually a check down and he has scrambled or flushed from the pocket. Mark is pretty accurate when he steps up in the pocket and throws. He is looking much more comfortable in the pocket this preseason even on the the throw he got hurt he bought himself sometime when the pocket collapsed and delivered an accurate ball. mark is looking good this preseason no matter what you biased eyes tell you.

Becomes non of his previous OC really ran that many screens. he was pretty good throwing to LT when he was here.

I don't think my biased eyes are the problem. I think you're underestimating the level of precision required for an WCO short passing game to flourish. What you're calling accurate is not necessarily precise.

I understand and mark is plenty precise to run it just as Mike Vick was.

Are you one of the ones nit picking the throws in the Lions game I thought I already debunked that but believe what you wish.

Vick and Mcabb not exactly what I would call accurate Qbs.

I'm fairly sure that McNabb was a more accurate passer than Sanchez...I know he had a way better TD-INT ratio.

You can't compare the play of McNabb to Sanchez.

Every time Sanchez throws a screen these days it goes right into a d-lineman's hands for a pick six.

What both sides? Care to elaborate?

Did I ever say Sanchez is going to even be an average QB? Where?

I want Sanchez to start only because I believe it is prudent for the Jets franchise to protect Geno. Not because Sanchez can lead this team anywhere.

mark really struggles in the screen game, one thing Geno has done well is throw good screen passes.

    Already worried

All I know is that every time he drops back to pass, I get fucking nervous. It's just a matter of time before he throws that awful pass, or fumbles away another one.

I was just thinking about watching the first game with Sunday ticket, a cold beer...then I got that feeling I get when sanchez drops back. It's like butterflies in my stomach - just waiting for it.

Vinny wasn't like that, Chad wasn't like that, Kenny O wasn't like that. Other short term guys were, but they were short term. Favre was like that after he got hurt.

I was so on the Sanchez bandwagon after yr 2...and I would be the first to jump back on if I saw potential, but I just didn't at all last yr.

how soon we forget how the board hated Vinny and Chad and would have hated Kenny if he was around in the internet age.

Favre was like that all year long, he had 14 TOs the first half of the year and 10 the 2nd half so he was pretty consistent.

Vinny, Chad and O'Brien playoff wins: 3
    mark playoff wins: 4

if you read my posts you'd see I am always objective, the problem is if I don't say mark is the worst QB in the league you guys act like I say he is great, if I don't say he was the sole reason we sucked last year you guys act like I say he didn't deserve any blame.

Zach, go back and watch the St.Louis game.

I dont think he is unable, I think the lack of repetitions day to day have hurt him with the emphasis on using the outsides to open the run.

Your own thread shows the difference, between this year and last.

Is he going to be Joe Montana, probably not...but his deficiencies are overstated.

Reduce his high risk/ low percentage passes, bring him in the box a little more, let him take a quick slant option on a corner in off coverage, and you can get him easily, northof 60%.

i would say 65, but we can save that till next year.

He was a long range bomber, when he got picked 5 overall?

Or, maybe ..and Im going out on a limb here..his OCsucked when he turned Pro.

Then had Shonn Stonehands Greene. As Cval said, he and LT meshed pretty well in tue short game.

This x100. I chopped up your post a little, but the bold especially, you nail my feelings.

So one of the best pass catching RBs in the league and Sanchez did ok on screen passes? He needs to improve and I don't know why he's bad at them. It's not that difficult of a pass, the only thing is it takes a quick decision to make and I guess that's where Sanchez ends up making those dumb throws on screen passes.

I don't think the St Louis game is a good example because the Jets didn't trust him with the ball in the RZ. There aren't very many good examples for Sanchez last year, the best one is probably that 4th quarter against NE. He has trouble putting together a complete game or a mistake free game. THe best way to get him to limit mistakes, is to limit him throwing the ball which goes opposite the trend of this league

    He went 15/20.

He didnt need to throw a pass in the last 9:00 of that game, but most of the throws in that game are the ones we are discussing.

And St.Louis was mauling him in the first QTR.

Mcelroy would have been a huge improvement over Sanchez last year. With Kerley at QB last year we do better then Sanchez's 6 wins.
