    1. If his defense is shit?
    2. If he is strong-arming the offense, only to see it fail so miserably.

I get Bleacher report in my in box & that is the 1st place I saw it. Since then it has been on ESPN also but I think I saw it 1st in Bleacher & then heard it on ESPN reporter show. If U have not heard this just wait U will as the NYJs go further & further into the toilet this year.On ESPN it came when they were talking about RR & one of the panel mentioned what I posted that Woody had to go thru 5 people before Idzik took the job knowing that RR was going to be the HC

    RiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiGHT...

    Stop. Just stop.

    Bleacher Report? lol

ESPN doesn't have a clue what really went on during the interview process, nobody truly does. There was so much smoke being thrown around during that time, it is truly hard to tell. I do not buy it that they settled for Idzik and that 5 other people declined the job.

This specific job is very rare to achieve, a lot of people do not have the true luxury to decline a GM position. The only person that I feel probably did decline an interview with the Jets, is the former Browns GM, Tom Heckert.

    David Caldwell
chose the Jags over the Jets based on money incentive. It was reported that Caldwell insisted on a money bonus in order to accept the Jets GM job, which is ridiculous.

Tom Gamble had an interview but it was widely reported that he bombed it.

Marc Ross was never a serious candidate and was only given an interview to suffice the Rooney rule.

Omar Kahn had a couple of different interviews and was in the running till the end of it.

Ted Sundquist also had an interview and really wanted the job, he was also in the running for awhile but was a part of the final cuts for the job. Ted Sundquist even openly talked about his interview process and some of the things that happened during the process with him.

    http://http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=7&ved=0CFoQFjAG&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.1043thefan.com%2Fchannels%2Fthedrive%2Fstory.aspx%3FID%3D1869118&ei=aEYeUs3_BMrCyQGgwoC4AQ&usg=AFQjCNGBYqFM5aeA4XqQMHINzDAgduyzFg&sig2=yxvf-5KkSTxjbRfZgB1XVg&bvm=bv.51156542,d.aWc&cad=rja

So that is just a few that I remember from the process of it all, with only one declining to even interview for the position. Which makes since considering the guys position in the league and his past.

Considering there's no evidence that it was ever reported anywhere speaks volumes. If this were true it would have been talked about for weeks on ESPN radio and constantly brought up by the likes of Cimini and Mehta. One beat writer's opinion about people turning down the job does not make it reality. Hilarious that people would believe that, nonetheless use it as some argument to suggest our management sucks. Even if it's true, it's a fallacy to assume it means anything about Idzik's ability to be GM.

Just reporting what is out there concerning the NYJs. Hey even if he was the 6th person on the list he may turn out to be great something akin to someone giving you free 10 bricks of gold. OTH he may turn out to be totally crapola & we again wasting years attempting to reach & win the SB

Edge, it surprises me how this, the simplest observation about this team escapes people.

He got to within1 game of the SB, with one of tje worst OCs in football, twice.

And less talent than we have now.

Nobody took the bait? How was the 2010 or 2009 team less talented than the one we have right now? Remember all we can judge this team is on paper and their most recent play....

Those teams were more talented on paper, but I expect this team to be better coached.

There is definitely way more uncertainty going into this year but to be honest not much was expected in 2009 either. It's amazing how if a few things go your way you can take off and suddenly be right in the mix.

It wouldn't be the most shocking thing in the world if it happened. I'd be way more shocked if we live up to the current 3-13 worst in the NFL billing we're receiving.

Please. This team is monstrous up front.

Anyone at safety is an upgrade over Eric Smith.

Holmes, Hill, Kerley, is the first repetirion at WR,

MM .....Schottenhemer,Sparano, you guys are right.

This is, easily the most balanced, complete team they have fielded under Rex.

And please, i respect your opinions, but instead of bitchy remarks, say why it isnt.

Why are the 2009 and 2010 teams better (and it's not even close)

    1. Revis - we don't have him now.

    2. More experience on defense and Ryan's defensive scheme less known to the league.

    3. Best offensive line in the league - by a lot.

    4. Better leaders - T-Rich, TJ, LT, SE

    5. Better WRs and RBs.

Assuming this is true, you'll have no issue with Rex being fired if the team only wins 6 or 7 games this year then.
