I have a buddy that is a huge lions fan. I bet him $100 per win Jets vs Lions this year. My bet wasn't necessarily made thinking we would be that good, but more based on the way the Lions ended last year, the fragile nature of Stafford, their division, their horrible coaching staff, crappy secondary and average offensive line.

My prediction was 7-9 Jets, 6-10 Lions. The bet wasn't made to get rich but to prove a point to someone who consistently bashes the Jets and thinks the Lions are great.

Thoughts? I have the potential in my opinion to make $100-200 or lose a sh*t load of money. I think those are really the only two options.

Hard to say. Both teams have the ability to play decent ball or completely shit the bed.

My guess is the Lions go 7-9/8-8 and the Jets 5-11/6-10.

The real question is ... are you available for additional job opportunities?

Hmmm. Could go either way. Most sportsbooks seem to have the Lions over/under number about 1 game higher than the Jets, on average. So, according to Vegas, you made a bad bet.

Personally, I actually think the Lions are being moderately overrated and the Jets moderately underrated. As a result, for my money, it's a very fair bet, but due to the inherent unpredictability of both teams, one that I undoubtedly would not have made.

The schedule favors the Jets. The Lions have to play GB, Chicago, and Minny twice, which is a tougher run than the AFC East this year.

I think both will win 6 to 8 games. Put two hundred bucks aside in case.

I think they'll finish around the same record. The lions are a better team, but the nfc is much tougher.
    Overall, i think you'll lose about $200.

I made a jets bet too recently. Except mine is actually quite favorable. It's a $50 bet, i just need us to go at least 4-12. That's right... 4-12. This guy is convinced we'll be the worst team, 2-14, or 3-13. Hey i would have taken a 6-10 bet but whatever.

Lions will be improved this year. So will the Jets. It's hard to say.

Damn, have a little more faith than that, bro.

Thats the worst case scenario for the Jets. The Lions record seems spot on.

I have a 50 dollar dinner the Jets make the playoffs.

And won a beer for winning the Snoopy Bowl.

I like this bet. Detroit has a tough schedule so I think you could make a few bucks.

I have a standing $100 bet with a Pats fan, starting 3 years ago, that the Jets make it further than the Pats. I'm up $100.

So you'll be back to even after this year??

My bet is still much more favorable than all your bets. I can't wait to win 4 games this year!

How are you up? The Pats have gone further than the Jets the last two years?

I think he means from the 09 year maybe? His math still wouldn't make sense though.

Had to bump this thread now that the season is winding down. Looks like this was a decent bet after all. I think the Lions lose this weekend and Jets have a shot to win. I can see me breaking even at worst and possibly up $100 after the season.
