Holy Cow!!!!! Had to share this....a writer ACTUALLY put in print that the Jets were a potential playoff team!!!!!!! *Thud*
Since I'm not expecting anything this season, everything I get will be upside so if we somehow make the playoffs, great. If we don't, not a issue here. Its football season and I'm looking forward to the games no matter what the outcome is for the Jets. Somehow though, that article didn't exactly read like a ringing endorsement..
maybe not, but I got pissed off watching nfl network, and hearing the FEMALE anchor describe the jets as a "mess". same thing over at fox. getting dissed by ex-players is one thing, but someone who never even played?
I was simply stunned that someone put even the remote possibility in print. With the shit storm of media that's been happening lately this guy must be on the chopping block over at Yahoo Sports to make such an "out of the box" statement...no mater how sarcastic it might have been. LOL!!!!
the funny thing about it they may end up being the only 5-11 team that nobody would want to play in a playoff game.
i see it everwhere. terms like 'mess', 'circus', 'dysfunctional', from people who clearly are not experts. what really kills me is that they follow up with a snarky grin or chuckle as if its obvious, but never never even try to give an example of this alleged 'dysfunction'. We are over covered by the media. That much is clear. We have a shaky QB situation. So do a lot of teams. We have an animated HC. I love that. and fortunately he has backed off the guarantees of 2011. Nothing in this offseason has been quite out of ordinary. If anything, the Jets have been very toned down this year, but the media coverage has only ramped up. Those providing those condescending terms are the 'mess'.
That's exactly how I feel. anticipating a 5-6 win team, but hoping to be pleasantly surprised! LOL!
That's how it reads to me. He's not saying we are a playoff team, but insinuating the exact opposite.
Yep, he's mocking the idea that the Jets are worth anywhere near the attention that they are actually getting.
