I get the "we're not as bad as last year" argument to a point. In certain terms, no we're not. There have been some improvements, while in others, mainly QB, RB, and receivers, we're absolutely as bad if not worse. I think you can throw away the better than last year argument. It's a new schedule with a lot of new players at new positions. I don't buy 3 wins for the Jets this year, but 6 or 7 is the absolute ceiling. I admire the optimism, but please share your drugs with the rest of the class 9+ win crowd.
Fuck that were are winning at least 6 and I'll cap is at 9. If our WRs don't miss any time I think we will just fine. Eventually we will have Demario Davis on 3rd down we can't keep going with David Harris against a RB or TE. That shit does not work.
If Sanchez plays....they can stay in contention in the second half. The OL is better, the Running game with Powell, Ivory, and Goodson (after week 4) is much better than Greene with his 3 yard average, the receivers Holmes, Kerley, Hill - are healthy which is more than last season, new OC is probably the biggest thing. Spoarno was the worst OC in football last year - possibly ever! The defensive front 4 looks top tier, Coples will be back, milliner will play and not wilson allowing wilson to go back to his normal dime role. On top of all that the last 7 games only feature one playoff team from last year.
I see 5-11 as I've stated before. The Jets will win one, MAYBE two games they're not supposed to. Yet the Defense is gonna get shredded up the middle in the running game (need to draft fast LB's) and the QB play is gonna be...well...ugly. This will not be an improvement over last year's record folks. They may have more talent than last year however I just don't see the chemistry. 5-11 at BEST.
Except Receiving corp is healthier. Line has improved and we have better RB and oh yeah a legate OC. We are definitely worse than last year with the worst offense in football. Unless you think the defense will mid to bottom this team is better than last season.

8 and 8 Even if the Jets split with their divisional opponents, I still think they will beat Oakland, Atlanta, Tampa Bay, Carolina, and Tennessee.
Include Cleveland and if we sweep the Bills or beat another team that's 9 wins my friend just enough for a Wildcard. Beating Atlanta would be one hell of a surprise though.
I would replace Atlanta with Pittsburgh if anything. We play them at home. I think Pittsburgh will take a big slide this season
Pit will have issues running the ball, no more Mike Wallace, and by the time we play them Big Ben should be hurt,.
I think we'll be fine. We'll win against some bottom tier teams, and I can see us beating one or two of the top tier teams. We almost beat NE and Houston last year, with the worst offense in the NFL.
I don't have a problem w/ people painting the Jets as a losing team. Alot of young players, a lot of variables...not a lot of established playmakers. This corps needs to learn how to win & lose together. It's gonna take time. What bugs me is them being painted as this untalented, disorganized mess. I truthfully don't see that. This team HAS pieces & it HAS talent. Take a look at the roster. Yeah there are some holes..there are definite question marks. But there is speed, athleticism & physical players all over this roster. Now measurables aren't everything. Players need to earn their keep. Not all the prospects will come to fruition. Some guys will disappoint. But this team is being wrongfully labeled. This isn't an aging roster completely lacking playmakers anymore. It's a young, green roster still finding itself. Those are 2 very different things.
There isn't 1 team that looks at the schedule and doesn't count the Jets as an easy win. If we lose by less than 14 to Atlanta it will be a moral victory.
