Sorry my phone is out of date and wont let me paste links to articles or twitter. If somebody could help me out I would appreciate it. Anyway La Canfora wrote an article explaining how the dynamic between the Jets and the media is toxic, and how the media is portraying the team. Needless to say all the jet beat reporters started whining about it, and La Canfora is calling them out. This is literally the first guy who seems to realize how ridiculous the portrayal of the Jets by the media has gotten.

It's almost like La Canfora is deleting the tweets after he writes them because I don't see them in his feed but I see the conversation in Hubbuch's.

    7 hours ago on Twitter:

Spare me the calls for Rex Ryan's head and the sudden love for Mark Sanchez. The Jets have a media problem and a QB problem @Jason La Canfora

I'm taking screenshots on my phone, I'll try and post them later if they get deleted.

With the Jets this year there are definitely a bunch of lemons in the mix. It appears that the Jets are doing their best to make lemonade out of them.

When we get faux outrage from the media over things like Sanchez playing in the 4th quarter of the third exhibition game behind backups we need to realize that they're just creating controversy that they can then sell.

If Peyton Manning got hurt in the 4th quarter behind backups would it be a coaching sin of the highest order? Yeah, but who cares? Mark Sanchez is not a valuable asset to the Jets. He's another lemon that the Jets are squeezing hard trying to make lemonade. Lemons get squished now and then. It's the only way to make lemonade out of them.

    Good point, Br4dway...

The thing thats frustrating to me is how Sanchez played into the 3rd qtr against Jacksonville, playing with 2nd and 3rd string guys throughout.

Where was the outrage then? They're just playing the result....

And while I understand you don't put your starting QB in the 4th qtr, I couldn't believe the "outrage" by the media, as if Sanchez is some valuable commodity... we're in a rebuilding year and we're just playing out the string with Sanchez and his contract.

Dude nailed it. The media is all doom and gloom. Thank goodness someone still has some integrity. Sanchez has been playing with both 1s and 2s since TC began. They acted like it was some mega risk, after crucifying Sanchez all last season. Oh man, they risked the health of an awesome bottom of the league QB during a QB competition!!! We're supposed to keep Sanchez away from all physical contact and treat him like Peyton Manning. Majority of the media needs to STFU.

I only disagree with one thing that La Canfora said...I do not believe this season turns out to be a train wreck. Exactly the opposite.....but that's just me.

Believe me when I say I think you guys get crucified unjustly but when Rex makes a remark about trying to win a meaningless PS game, he is setting the media up to run with a story. Had he stated that it was a QB competition and they need to see as many snaps as they can, I don't think they run with it quite as hard. Of course we know the history of Rex and his predictions not playing out which also factors in to the big picture.

No offense but any team that is in the situation the Jets are don't get the amount of national coverage the Jets do. Obviously Rex putting himself in the spotlight has a lot to do with it. That's his personality and I think that if the Jets do struggle this season, it's only going to get worse.

    Buckle up!

The guys at TOJ & Capellini have been criticizing the mainstream media since the season ended because of the firestorm of controversy they started after the season collapsed.

The twitter fight was pretty funny.

    http://deadspin.com/if-the-jets-are-going-down-theyre-taking-the-media-wi-1218921769

The New York Jets have graduated from hapless ne'er-do-wells to full-blown snowball rolling down the mountain, taking out everything in its path. Tonight, the Jets jump-started an ugly dustup between national and local media. Maybe, just maybe, some good can come out of this Jets season: total media cannibalization.

We start with Jason La Canfora. Earlier today, he wrote an article about the frothing beat that covers the Jets, rightly pointing out, among other things, the cognitive dissonance of the "how do you play Mark Sanchez" outrage. Bart Hubbuch of the New York Post took issue and things quickly deteriorated.

@HubbuchNYP believe it or not, its possible to write about Jets without an agenda. might even work at a ridiculous tabloid. try it sometime
    — Jason La Canfora (@JasonLaCanfora) August 29, 2013

@HubbuchNYP the column is about Rex, try reading it. and I'm no Rex defender. google it next time you watch the Jets stretch expert
    — Jason La Canfora (@JasonLaCanfora) August 29, 2013

@JasonLaCanfora Ah, insults now. I seem to have touched a nerve by outing your “suck up to the GM by bashing local guys” shtick, tough guy.
    — Bart Hubbuch (@HubbuchNYP) August 29, 2013

@HubbuchNYP Keep this up though, it suits you. Maybe one day Papa Murdoch will let you graduate to the back page! then you'll really make it
    — Jason La Canfora (@JasonLaCanfora) August 29, 2013

@HubbuchNYP you caught me on a good night. plenty of time to slap you around some more. keep trying to concoct a salient argument
    — Jason La Canfora (@JasonLaCanfora) August 29, 2013

@HubbuchNYP he turned it down, clown. as I reported. reading clearly not your strong suit. keep trying though. I'll give you one more strike
    — Jason La Canfora (@JasonLaCanfora) August 29, 2013

@HubbuchNYP I won't mention professionalism with you. you've done a great job on your own making clear there never was a pretense of it
    — Jason La Canfora (@JasonLaCanfora) August 29, 2013

@HubbuchNYP I'm out. gotta change a diaper. you win. keep championing journalism on the backpage. I can't compete with that
    — Jason La Canfora (@JasonLaCanfora) August 29, 2013

It'll be interesting to see how this impacts both guys when they step on the field. The NFL season is fast approaching and the last thing CBS or The Post need are distractions like this. It makes you wonder if either has the maturity yet to be the guy. What's more, colleagues won't like having to answer to the constant questions about a sideshow like this. If it keeps up, it could lead to tension in the writer's room.
