You are the type of person for which this thread was made. It's preseason bro, anything can happen this year. If things go ugly this year, the Rex is gone and we go in a different direction. Simple as that. The thing is, we don't have a clue on what will happen this season, so to be lashing out in retarded rants based off of media bullshit and one bad season is exhausting. I love this board, I've been here for years as many others have as well but it is getting to a point where all this "the sky is falling!!!" Rah-Rah is really putting a downer on this season and it hasn't even started yet, even though there are a ton of things to be optimistic about compared to last year. I'm excited for this season, and we may not make the playoffs but for fuck sakes this is my team I root for, I'm behind them every year because I am a fan of this team. So why be so pissed off when nothing has even happened yet? There is absolutely nothing to be pissed off about yet because we have no clue what the outcome to this upcoming season is going to be.
I have no expectations for this season, i'm no longer expecting anything for any of my sports teams. I'll just watch and see and not get my hopes up. I will say this, in 2011 everyone had the Bengals penciled in as the worst team and they made the playoffs. Last season the Colts were in the same boat, everyone said 2-3 wins and they made the playoffs. All 32 teams are capable of making the playoffs. Its such a short season and every team has 22 of the better players in the league at their postition. In baseball and basketball time after time you see guys starting who wouldn't make the roster elsewhere. In the NFL every team services 22 starters who would all make any other team at least as a backup.
Baseball is a marathon, Basketball is a marathon, Football is a 16 game sprint. Two or three bad games and the playoffs are probably gone unless the team isa powerhouse in the other games. This is the first season in a long time that I've thought the team was a fewer than 6 win team in a very long time before the season started. Now last year after about 4 or 5 games it became clear the Jets were sunk but prior to the season I thought they had a legit shot at the playoffs if the QB play was up to snuff. This year there are just WAY too many question marks. Yes some guys could step out of the woodwork and really step up. But when I look at this team there is no way I can say I think they're even a .500 team and be even remotely honest in the assessment. I'm 51, I've seen more than enough losing seasons in my lifetime so I take absolutely no joy entering in to the season with the belief the team isn't good. But frankly I have the same feeling I had back in the days of Al Woodral.
I Don't see 0-16...after all we play the Raiders Actually McFadden, if he's healthy, will probably run for 350 yards and 4 TD's....assuming of course he's healthy.... Very slight sarcasm.
Just Enjoy The Season.... is it really worth getting all worked up over? Let things fall into place before we pass judgement.

It starts with our idiot owner that cares more about media headlines than winning games, our front office is a mess, we cant evaluate talent for shit, we have a head coach thats a defensive coordinator, our QB situation consists of a "battle" of a 5th year player who still looks like a rookie and a rookie who doesnt have the skillset to be a quarterback in this league anymore than people on this board, the entire offense besides that has not a single playmaker, the line is swiss cheese sans mangold, the defense has lost its best player, our D line is very good but everyone else is marginal at best. we'll be in clowney territory this year, no doubt about it. lets just hope we dont draft a kicker with our high pick

What exactly makes our team a joke? The only joke around these parts is Woody Johnson and his secret love for throwing this franchise on the spot every opportunity he sees. Rex Ryan is a Defensive Head coach. Still the best coach we have had in quite some time. 2012 was his only losing season with injuries up the wazoo. Then you have the media jumping on him for every little word he says. But Rex is a talker, always has been, and he will let you know whats on his mind. But since he believes hes battling for his job he has to put his tail between his legs and walk the company line. I miss big fat Rexy telling everyone were gonna kick their ass. Geno is a rookie who played in one preseason game. Chill out, bro. He has all the tools to eventually become a starter if Sanchez ever does bad. No QB starts out perfect. We were still 2nd in Pass D-WITHOUT Revis. Why do people take preseason seriously anyway? I only see these games as a way to figure out the players from the scrubs. Lastly, what on earth makes anyone think we are a joke team? Its not like were givng up 30+ points every game to teams like the Browns. Its preseason and aside from Rex and his bone head Sanchez move, its been pretty okay. Everything is a work in progress with unexpected results. Maybe Sanchez lights the world on fire and throws TD's in our new WCO. Maybe we will be back to stuffing the run and defending the pass in top 5 fashion. Maybe Ivory will rush over 1300 yards and Goodson catches a bunch of passes for TD's. No one knows. But I sure as shit believe we will. This team is no joke. Were not going 0-16, and were not losing 7+ games. A little optimism. Did I blow this out of proportion?
