Maybe I'm being over the top, but I truly hope one of these media members don't end up being seriously hurt. Many Jet fans are building up a ton of anger towards guys like Cimini and Mehta, and their intent is clearly to bother and anger Jet fans. Just read these guys' twitter accounts, many people are threatening these guys, especially Mehta. And their location is always well known. Honestly if I was Mehta I'd be pretty scared to walk around the city.... Jets fans can be radical and theres many unstable people out there...
If we have any of these types of yahoos on the board I urge you to get help, if anyone knows fans like this please help them get help. We all love this game and this team but to get physical with someone over it is a person who needs serious help.
Lol.. Nobody is going to go attacking a reporter because they are shitting on their favorite sports team... Lets get real.
false worry? look man if one of these guys got hurt I would be the first to call the guy who did it a garbage human being. These media guys are tools but theyre not hurting anybody
if they are going to do it i hope they tape it and put him (either one of them) in a rear naked choke or an arm bar. it would be sweet if they swept the leg too though. then maybe they could get someone to edit it to the karate kid and post it on youtube.
I wouldn't wish any physical distress to come to Mehta from an external (read: from a violent creep) source. On the other hand, if Mehta were to find himself on a stalled #4 IRT train while suddenly being overtaken by a bout of diarrheic incontinence, well that wouldn't exactly be the end of the world. But I do wish him well otherwise.
This is another prime example of how some fans just don't get it. The fans have now turned to blaming some f'ing schmo beat writers for the team because the team is so piss poor on the field. I've got a novel idea for you...how about the Jets start fielding a team that the fans can be proud of. And don't think these beat writers are losing one second of sleep over some dumb*ss fans because they're just writing the truth...That this teams sucks! Improve the product on the field and you won't have to look to point the finger and blame some hack sportswriters. Lame.
how about if he gets stuck on said train and the swede is there and they start chanting swede, swede, swede and he comes into the train and walks right up to muhneesh and cracks his knuckles and he makes him soil himself? and then 85 year old gunney sargeant highway comes in and puts him in an armlock and makes him tap out... and says some badass stuff.
I think you are missing the point. Whether Manish or Cimini write good journalism or continue to spew the "National Inquirer" headlines like they are, the product on the field will not change. Nobody is blaming the writers for a bad team. However, there is a difference with being critical of the team (Cannizaro, Capellini, TOJ) when it is justified and spewing sewage that stirs up a controversy pot for no sports related reason except to get page hits for being a douche (Cimini, Mehta).
It's easy to be a tough guy from behind a keyboard. Are there crazies out there that would follow through on whacked out claims like what you're talking about? Yes, of course. But keep in mind that sports fans feed on shit talking and being able to do it somewhat anonymously makes it real easy to say over-the-top things. I highly doubt that any of the writers, no matter how slimy, are in any danger.
No one is blaming the media for how bad the Jets are. We're blaming them for making shit up and stirring the pot. Watch this… mediaite.com/tv/as-i-was-saying-keith-olbermann-makes-return-to-espn
This is completely on point, Fozz. As an aside, the fact that other media outlets prefer to pick up Cimini and Mehta speaks to the state of the journalism industry and their inability to self-regulate and enforce any quality controls or standards. (For Cimini, his work product also mars Syracuse's reputation in the field.) On topic, while they do not deserve their syndication and salaries, Cimini and Mehta (and their families) also do not deserve any physical abuse or threats. Those actions are just low, low brow and, quite possibly, criminal.
Sorry. I couldn't disagree more w/ you. In terms of the team's overall stock..we can agree to disagree on that portion. I don't expect to convince any die hard pessimist of any bright spots w/ this team. But the media has been absolutely out of control. If they want to dissect issues within the team's FOOTBALL structure. I.E. Scheme/line play/positional analysis...while maintaining some level of objectivity & consistency.I don't think Jet fans would have much issue with them. Instead we get tabloid crap meant to stir up drama in any way imaginable. They constantly contradict themselves around every turn in order to paint the team in its poorest possible image. It's always centered around the QB & head coach. It is never positive...and it's always arbitrary aspects that frankly don't impact the team beyond the very disruption they're creating. Mehta is complete & utter garbage. Always bashing Jets management for every little move made or not made. Since when is HE an expert on running a football team? He can barely spew back the QB stats from daily TC practice..which by the way is MEANINGLESS.
Honestly this thread should be closed before it gets out of hand, stuff posted on the Internet can spread like a wildfire.
All Hail Keith Olbermann Just read this on the TGG newsbar. Its right to the point of this thread. http://www.ganggreennation.com/2013/8/27/4662752/keith-olbermann-dismantles-manish-mehta
I'm not saying anyone should attack these guys, but someone should attack these guys. They'd become a hero.
I get both Cim & Meh tweets in my Twitter account & I have not seen any threats whatsoever posted in there accounts
