what medical school did bob glauber attend??? how does bob glauber know that he "couldn't" raise his right arm??? regardless of what bob glauber thinks, Sanchez threw the ball on the sideline after he was hit. the trainers removed his pads just like they always would when they go to ice a shoulder. I am optimistic that Sanchez is not seriously injured. the xray was negative and the mri has been described as "precautionary". most likely he has a bruised shoulder and is not seriously injured despite what bob glauber and the other idiots in the media believe. According to Ian Rappoprt - when he was on the sideline last night he told his teamates "I'm fine". the mri will likely reveal a bruised shoulder / soft tissue injury that will heal in a wk or so. in other news giants safety stevie brown has a torn acl.
As long as the story is up on NFL.com and we don't have an official denial I'll assume there is something to it. I'm not sure why people are bitching about it, it's common sense the Jets need to sign a QB. Even if Sanchez doesn't have a major injury, he's likely out for next week. McElroy is hurt and hasn't played the last two games. That leaves Geno and Simms as the two QB's next week. If Simms came in for the second quarter and got hurt, the Jets would be stuck sending Geno back out which would be stupid. This probably isn't the Jets looking for a yearlong replacement for Sanchez, it's more likely the Jets looking for a QB for garbage time in the next game.
Actually I read somewhere exactly what you are saying. The Jets "may" be looking for somebody who can play next week but not make the team after final cuts.
i don't think people are bitching about it. its just been questioned as to whether it is an accurate report. if they want to work out a player its fine w/me. are people actually upset about the NYJ holding a workout? who cares?? go to the beach !
Almost made me spit up my beer with that one, I do agree though no way we sign these 2 burnouts over McElroy and Simms.
Why would Beck even get a look? Matt Simms proved he is better than him last night. McElroy certainly is.
INJURY UPDATE: Kimberley A. Martin @KMart_LI 9s Jay Glazer just said on Fox that Mark Sanchez's MRI results were inconclusive. #jets Rich Cimini @RichCimini 3m Still no definitive word on Sanchez, but I don't sense any season-ending fears. Could be a wk to wk deal. Opening day a question. #Jets
I think it is more to have a body if Sanchez and McElroy are hurt. Need a third QB for the Eagles game, maybe beyond.
Inconclusive MRI? A little strange, my guess from what I saw on the field was a dislocated shoulder at first.
New York Jets @nyjets 2m QB Mark Sanchez has an injured right shoulder and will not play THURS vs. PHI. His status is day-to-day: http://tinyurl.com/mscjwmy Not much of an injury it sounds like. And the funny thing about it is that he wouldn't have played anyway and neither will Smith I would think.
he's day to day apparently which indicates its not a a significant injury despite the last 18 hrs of media hyping this as if this was some sort of career ending injury. probably a bad bruise. maybe the media clowns can stop hyperventilating now.... despite what some in the media have reported or failed to report, he threw passes on the sideline afterwards. you don't do that if that shoulder joint has a fracture, dislocation or tear. As Don correctly points out - doesn't sound like much of an injury and he probably wasn't going to play against philly anyway. Ironically the giants came out of this game much more worse for wear than the jets and the JETS WON THE FREAKING GAME.... but the media keeps forgetting that fact....
First game is in 14 days Day to Day status is usually a timetable of 7-10 days Rex and co have a ton of thinking to do
I can't remember ever hearing of an inconclusive MRI. Can someone with experience with that chime in?
A lot of times, especially during acute traumatic injury, an MRI done too soon after the inciting event will show a lot of inflammatory process that is going on in the shoulder. This obstructs the view of what is normal soft tissue, vs what is a transient process. I was actually surprised when they said the MRI would be done today, I thought they would have at least waited until tomorrow. I think a good take away from this report is that they did not find any obvious tears in the rotator cuff or other ligaments within the shoulder. This does not mean that something more innocuous isn't going on.
