I think Jets fans have to thank Coughlin for sending game into over-time, cause he helped Jets find there new starting QB...Matt Simms. From OT, the legend of Matt Simms ....grows !!!!

This is what Jets fans think about after the game that happened? Wow.

I felt the same way Matt, I wanted to see him as well. He helped liven up an otherwise boring, frustrating game.

Meh, he has every right to coach to win the game.

edit: I am, by no means, endorsing the "icing" of a kicker as a useful, worthwhile practice. I always thought it was moronic.

Completely agree. I was shocked by his assholeness. I hate that f*cking "make him kick twice" crap. With all the things the NFL makes illegal, why isn't that one of them? And for Coughlin to pull it twice at the end of a preseason game, is disgraceful. Too bad one of his players didn't get hurt having to play more downs because of him. If a rookie HC pulled that stunt he'd be chastised for it.

In the 2007 Americas Game episode Coughlin talks about how Week 17 against the Pats he played his starters instead of resting for the playoffs because he preaches every week about playing to win and doing everything in to win day after day.

That's his philosophy. He plays to win the game, no matter the circumstances.

I don't get how that is anything other then a good quality in a head coach.

Tom Coughlin is a front running, red-faced bully. Fuck him.

I hear what you're saying but he's playing to win the game. Non-story.

I thought Coughlin was his usual deuchey self.

demonstratively running on the field to chew out players publicly, icing a Kicker twice in the preseason, celebrating when Folk missed the kick as if his icing was the reason, and then playing for OT.

it was bush league if you ask me. Normally i wouldn't give a shit if we won or not, but found myself really hoping to pull out the W last night.
    Glad we did...

I dont get why people are upset by this. I know the Met Bowl is not the Super Bowl.

But this is home field bragging rights. If you think Rex doesn't want to win this game
as bad as TC did then your kidding your self. In the same position Rex would have done
the same exact thing preseason or not.

    This.

It's a bit silly what he did, but nothing out of the ordinary for his coaching behavior.

He's a good fit with the Giants, but personally i'm not a fan of his coaching style.
    I'd rather have his QB..

Playing to win the game is absolutely the right way to Coach and play the game. Hats off to Coach Coughlin for trying to win the football game.

Good job by Rex & his CS for playing to win and winning the game!!!
