Rex lost his head in the press conference, but he arguably already lost it an hour earlier when he made that dumb-a** decision. If Sanchez was at least a competent starting QB that would be a fireable offense, but since Sanchez is what he is, it's more just a stupid footnote that makes us look like more of a clown show.
We also got a trophy for the trophy case. How many other teams can say they have the Snoopy trophy? Only 1 other team in the league!
Rex reminds me of a better version of mike singletary. A guy that players love to play for and will play hard for. Will motivate guys and get the best of them but his head coaching abilities haven't progressed between 09 to now. Unlike singletary however rex is a great defensive coordinator but to be a great head coach you need to manage both sides of the ball.
For those that didn't watch the press conference, you can go to the Jets fifth quarter show on ESPN Radio portion of ESPN and rewind to the press conference. That was as pissed off as I have ever heard Rex.
I started thinking this when Sanchez went down. On the one hand, you see flashes of the greatness that could be with this team, but on the other they never seem to get over themselves and stop shooting themselves in the foot. It's tiresome.
Its the entire tenure since Rex came in. Its most frustrating because clearly the ceiling is higher for Rex than it has been under each regime since Parcells. I'm starting to question whether that potential will ever be realized.
hilarious to see the haters come out - the JETS WON THE GAME. Geno sucked but that is to be expected from a rookie. Sanchez looked pretty good. Heal up and get ready for he next game.
Wait a second. Sanchez was in there against the Giants second stringers too. It's not like Rex threw him to the wolves with our 2nd string line against their firsts.
But what about the trophy?!!?! Yeah, it's nice to win, but unlike the regular season this win doesn't count for anything so it doesn't trump all the bad that happened in it.
