I mean wouldn't you guys rather see Shaun Hill start? Ryan Fitzpatrick? Kirk Cousins? Kyle Orton? Drew Stanton?

All it takes would probably be a 6th rounder? Why do we have to suffer through these 2 fucking terrible options.

Can someone tell me? This is the absolute fucking worst QB battle in the history of mankind. It's an absolute joke.

give me the legitimate quarterback and not the running back who can "throw"

It really is the worst QB battle I've ever witnessed, it's like who can be more inept. You would think each guy had millions on the line if they got picked to start the season.

You need to back off the ledge. Geno was pretty bad, but its one fucking PREseason game and he's a rookie.

Im sure he will start this season at some point, and if he sucks for an extended period of time, then you can start your overreacting.

    they both suck.

we need to look externally for our starting qb.

Kirk Cousins is an intriguing prospect, for sure. It'd cost a first rounder though, it'd be a gamble.

It's like choosing which testicle you want chopped off with a rusty machete. No matter how you slice it you lose.

Well we know why we're not seeing Drew Stanton. Those other guys would take a LOT more than a sixth rounder to get, at least Cousins would. Orton's a pro, there's no reason for Dallas to trade him, and Fitzpatrick's better than Locker anyway.

Teams ain't trading their proven backup QB for peanuts. Look how badly the Bills are scuffling to find guys to fill out the roster now that their two QB's are hurt. Matt Leinart and John Beck are almost as bad as our crap.

That likely wouldnt workout. When does trading for another team's backup ever work? And yes, it would likely cost a first. With our team looking like it could have a high draft pick, its not even close to worth it.

don't be stupid, we aren't getting anybody else.

what the hell makes you think somebody that has been rejected by every other team, wasn't considered by this organization when the opportunity was present and has not spent any time with the offense is better than what we have?

    cut the hyperbole down morons.

people never learn. i would thought fans would have wised up after that matt cassell debacle, there's a reason why those guys are backups.

Did you just become a Jets fan this year? You obvious missed the QB competition between Sanchez and Tebow then.

I'll take Orton over Sanchez and Smith but that's it of that group.

GMac not even playing tonight. Some QB competition.

I was biased towards Smith but after tonight, he definitely doesn't deserve to start. If the Jets start Sanchez, they should just eliminate all screen passes and that should increase his completion % AT LEAST five points and cut his interceptions down AT LEAST 50%.

Nevermind, just saw on NFL.com that Sanchez's shoulder has been injured.

4-12 here we come...if we are lucky.

There's Matt Flynn, Rob Johnson, Scott Mitchell...yeah the track record for these guys is pretty sketchy lately but that doesn't mean it can never work out. Schaub was a backup that was traded and at least went on to a reasonably successful pro career.

Smith played one game and you guys are already throwing him under the bus. Jesus Christ.

Lol. Finding someone externally won't fix the QB situation. We're 3 games into the preseason already, having even a "veteran" come in wont guarantee shit.

At this point in the season if you start desperately pining for a QB you'll pay out the nose. No team is giving up their solid backup for peanuts. I would take any of the guys the OP named over either of our QBs, but not at the price they'll cost. I would rather go 0-16 and draft Clowney.

schaub is a stone cold scrub and a statue whose success is derived from that great offensive line

    YOU MEAN BUSTY MCBUSTERSON....NESS!??!

yeah, he wasn't gonna play lights out in his first game starting, maybe our expectations were a tad to high.

    just a tad....

maybe its a good thing he made mistakes, he was bound to do it eventually, why not sooner in a game that doesn't count?
