I said from day one Sanchez should start let's not ruin Geno because we want to rush him on the field. At this point he isn't better than Sanchez, plain and simple. He will get there possibly but honestly Mark gives us the best chance to win now.

indeed, but there are weak links.

Wilson hasn't been playing well, and Allan is questionable on that TD. Luckily neither will be called upon to be the first man up.

the d-line is friggin awesome though, no doubt there.

    The INTs dont bother me

the misread on the Winslow post does, gotta throw it earlier
not finding your hot when you see the blitz coming and throwing a bad pass

I lke it. they threw him in multiple formations, multiple different plays. See where he's at against another team. Clearly, not ready for week 1 starting yet, but nice to get him moving and see where he needs work, where he's strong.

Definitely weak links, but very promising. The speed of the LB and definitely the depth of the secondary, specifically S, is worrisome, but you are right, that DL is going to be so much fun to wathc

I like the gameplan of throwing the ball short, running the ball and negating the giants rush. Very much like the 2009-2010. It is a nice plan for a young QB especially in his 1st real game action. I would like to see more of Geno pushing the ball up the field or taking a deep shot. Hopefully with better results. Its been so long since we have seen a QB throw the ball up the field and challenge defenses. I think that is what made McElroys performance against the Lions so special. It was the 1st time we have seen a QB challenge a defense and throw the ball up the field since Favre was here. I was hoping to see Geno able to do something similar even if just a few shots on play action. But as a rookie I like the gameplan. Hopefully we will see him come out with some improved play in the 3rd quarter.

    yes

the run opens the pass especially for a rookie

making the defense add a man to the box opens things up

This. I don't understand how there's post on here going "See, another pick. That's why Sanchez should start". I mean really?

not if that rookie is being tested.

Smith has been up and beneath the earth. sometimes he's making alright decisions, and then theres... yeah.

No use giving up on him but theres certainly no overwhelming reason to start him week 1. the only question is how they move forward, give him the start and let him learn live? or bench him a while and do as much as possible to get him ready outside instances that matter.

he's a promising rookie and not much more, as far as I can tell the only issue is with letting the game slow down for him. he's shown a semblance of poise, he just needs to get used to matters and the Jets have to decide how to do that best.

and more importantly they need to decide how that relates to what Sanchez is doing.

He's thrown 3 deep passes I think. One a straight INT, one a jump ball on pressure, one on nice tough to Hill.

He's definitely better on screen passes but Sanchez, but makes more rookie mistakes than Sanchez.

Right now Sanchez has looked like 5/10 and Geno a 3/10. Now how I wanted our week 1 starter to be decided...

Sanchez sure does make a lot of rookie mistakes himself though.

He is rookie and it will take time for the game to slow down. He threw some passes late as well and that will take time to improve upon as well as he gets more reps. But I don't think there was anything that bad from him. he just needs reps and time. But then again that can be said for almost every QB who is not the starter.

Yeah, that's the bad part of Sanchez. Like if Sanchez picks were just bad throws like Geno's first 1, whatever, gunslinger mentality. Some of his decisions are just what are you doing????

Our kickoff coverage hasn't been too swell.

Simply not true. All Geno had to do to win this job was NOT TURN THE BALL OVER...that is all!

Great disguise? Pick 3 was identical to Sanchez pick 6, just at different part on field.

No it wasn't. Sanchez had nobody to throw to on his pick 6. Geno's pick 3 was like Sanchez's RZ pick.
