Very excited. Wonder if he will be ready for a few plays in week 1, or if a couple more weeks of prep. He's a great player and I think he can fit MM's offense really well
If Holmes is indeed back I am not sure there is room fro Braylon even if we go with 6 WRS. Spots 1-4 are locked up with Hoimes, Hill, Gates and Kerley. Spot 5 Between Spadola, Edwards, Massaqoui Rodgers and Obamanu. Even if we carry 6 is there a space for a receiver that cannot play special teams? Sadly it is unlikely. I love the way Edwards plays. He is willing to do anything, put his body at risk and he has become pretty clutch. Although I could see us carrying Edwards as the 6th WR until Holmes is fully healthy. All in all if Holmes returns anywhere near his form he started last year with that is a good receiving core withe a lot of potential.
Good news to hear, Lanfranc injuries have to be one of the toughest injury to come back from. It difficult to walk and run after the injury, some people never walk or run right again after it. As far as how this effects our WR core and who stay and who gets cut or put on the PS, we know Holmes, Hill, Kerley, gates are locks. Now as for the other spots I think Edwards and Obamamu (although I could see them keeping Massaqoui instead of obamamu) and they trying to put spadola and Rodgers on the PS.
Of course he will be playing soon, this year is his audition for 31 other teams,so hopefully we get great production outta him.
Rodgers goes to the PS. Spadola is in, last slot will be decided over the next two games between Mass, Edwards or Manu. Of course that is my gut feeling which probably won't cut the mustard. I do want Spadola to make it. I'm rooting for the kid. We need youth and a dark horse to replace Chrebet.
If Spadola and Rodgers hit our practice squad...they are gone....finito...they will be plucked like Christmas geese. Either one...gonzo. You can take that to the bank.
I think Spadola should make the team. They might try and put Rogers on the PS. Hopefully no one snatches him up.
I'm in total agreement on Spadola and about 90% on Rogers. Belichik is probably going to grab Rogers just to milk him about the Jets passing offense and then he's going to realize that Tom Brady can make use of him. Of course there's a good chance he doesn't make it down to the Pats.
