And Mark's 3TD game was more than he had total in his other 3 playoff wins in total. That 3 TD game is the ONE game I give him kudos for, the rest he was just along for the ride.
how can anyone say who should start when geno has not been in much game action yet? seriously, how the fuck is anyone giving an opinion based on what we have seen?
Thats the only play that ppl should be screaming and crying about. I think Sanchez and coaching staff were trying to give the fans a td, in regular season I dont think they'd attempt a pass with 6 seconds at the half, you take the points.
exactly. Because I cant think of one time in a reg. season game where Sanchez had run out the clock like that. That pass was all for a TD to put on his chart. Reg. season game, we go for 3.
Comparison is an asinine point and you know it. Brady doesn't have a career littered with Interceptions and fumbles, Sanchez does in every year of his career essentially. Brady has far more TD's than turnovers, Sanchez is in the negative. Brady is the driving force behind Patriots winning, Sanchez along for the ride. Brady is accurate, Sanchez isn't. Brady Reads defenses and sees the whole field, Sanchez can't read defenses and locks on to a receiver. Brady sees a play isn't there and either changes target or throws the ball away, Sanchez stays locked on the player and forces the throw, often to very bad results. Teams fear Brady's passing attack, Teams line up in the box against he run because they have no fear of Sanchez's passing attack. Using Brady to try to make a point on Sanchez's failures is the ultimate in hyperbolic statements.
Suppose it's the last few seconds of the game, TD wins the game FG ties it. You've got time for one quick play and then the field goal if the TD Fails. Yes it matters. Last few seconds of the game, down by 4 points. You've got time for 2 plays if the first play is quick. Plays not there? get rid of it and try the next play. boom game over ran out the clock. Lets change the field position slightly, time for 2 plays if one of them is very quick, balls at extreme FG range, you have 1 time out left. you need 5-10 yards to give the FG kicker a real chance, your down by 2 points. FG wins the game. Plays not there? dump it and take your chances with the extreme FG. Game situation and clock management matters, that same type of indecision on a 2 minute drive can be the difference between having the time on the clock to get another play or two off I the drive. Regardless what it show's is Sanchez's indecisiveness on the field, his hesitation and lack of clear thought on the game situation.
In the "old" NFL, this was blasphemy, start a rookie? Are you kidding? they would say, but with the likes of Luck, RGIII, Wilson, Flacco, and egads, dare I say Sanchez etc., that way of thinking is long gone, so yes, I would start Geno in a heartbeat, especially with the 2014 draft so loaded with QB prospects. Lets see if Geno is the guy or we look to the 2014 draft for that guy!
They were going for a td in a meaningless game, period. No need to add more gibberish to that forced attempt. If that was a real game jets go for three. If it came down to what you randomly brought up, most likely he'll do what is right. As mentioned, I don't think he's every screwed up in those situations in a regular game. Stop overly reaching. It was a pre-season game where the final score didn't matter, your correct on that point. It was a drill in a game situation and Sanchez failed.
I said that from the jump as he clearly didn't connect with anyone. The point of the whole thing was a touchdown, not field goal... Sent from my LG-VM670 using Tapatalk 2
The point of the whole thing was to see if the offense and sanchez specifically could handle the situation and he failed miserably. You're either pretending to fail to grasp that or not understanding. The situation is quite obviously a quick throw to an open first read or throw it away and kick. Sanchez fans sound so ridiculous sometimes.
Whatever the Jets do the media is going to say it's wrong until a Super Bowl is won again. But, I do think Sanchez should start behind center of this suspect offense
Oh please.... the point was for him to score a touchdown. I believe Rex even said something along those lines. In a regular season game jets wouldn't go for a pass or run. They would of went with a field goal. Add said, in the past I can't think of one time where the jets with Sanchez didn't do the right thing in that situation. Massive reaching is being done here by people who clearly dislike Sanchez no matter what he does. This is exactly what happened yet y'all can't let it go. Must add some extra. Is it supposed to impress us, or alleviate our concerns, that he hasn't done that yet in a game that actually counts???? Holy fuck.
You're missing the point, entirely. Mark Sanchez is a quarterback who has a history of making boneheaded mistakes. As a result, his mental awareness, decision making, and overall competence are under intense scrutiny. He simply can't afford to make those kind of mistakes anymore. It . . . just . . . can't . . . happen As for the bolded, I shudder to think what the reaction would be, both on this board and nation wide, if he pulled that shit in a game that actually counted.
Much rejoicing, as it would likely signal the final end of the Sanchize's last stand and the beginning of Era of Eugene.
