    those are different though!

man if every qb could fall back on well we had a chance at the end, even though i threw a few back breaking ints, they really werent cause you know... junc said so.

see stuff that is not quantifiable. its always that way with him. always.

In the Pitt game did we have a late lead and blow it?

That Pick-6 against Denver was beyond terrible. As junc said though, he took the Jets down the field to regain the lead 13-10, only to watch the defense look flat out embarrassing, allowing Tebow to give the Broncos the win. That is a great example of the Jets problems the last few seasons. People want to put it all on Sanchez, but so much else was wrong with the team. Again, no excuse for Sanchez throwing that Pick-6, if he does not throw it the Jets win, but if the Jets D holds the Jets win too.

we don't know if we win? we had a 7 pt lead, if he doesn't throw it how do we know the D doesn't allow a TD drive? they allowed a 95 yarder so maybe we lose in OT? we don't know. Awful INT, awful D- another team loss.

Doesn't matter. The ball game is right there to be won and Sanchez fumbled it away. I don't exactly agree with this logic but this is YOUR logic.

so if we lose by 3 and sancho turns an easy fg drive, probably td drive into 6 points for the other team... but we come back and take the lead only to lose by 3 its not sanchos fault because he didnt have the ball last?

    i see.

    so -3 -7 +7=-3 = great job sancho

I said in the prior post that he could have won or extended the game. He did neither. I don't see how it's different. You're telling us to forget everything prior when the defense fails, but not to forget everything prior when it's the offense who has the final say and turns the ball over.

In that game, Denver was in absolute sleep mode and pretty much getting ready to shower and board the plane! the Jets were in absolute total control, and looking back, some of the blame now must go to Rex, and Schotty, for just simply not taking the ball out of the USC turnover machines hands, and just simply keep running the ball, and throw in some safe passes, if their is such a thing when Sanchez is pulling the trigger. Anyway, after he threw that pick, their whole demeanor changed, they had life and unfortunately the rest is history, history that seems to repeat itself, every Sunday Sanchez is under center.

True, you never know, but I remember before the Pick-6 the Broncos offense looked pathetic.

    Yep. Agreed.

The situation is nothing alike, if our D gets a stop we WIN. That wasn't the case in Pitt. The D cost us a chance to win in Pitt, they cost us the win in NE.

They looked pathetic after the pick 6 too. The INT happened w/ over 4 mins left in the 3rd qtr, we fumbled the KO and Den got it right back but the D did a good job forcing a 3 and out. Next den poss: 3 and out, next: 3 and out. They had THREE 3 and outs after the INT for the TD, it wasn't until their last possession that our D choked like they have so many times before. Our D has been a legit great D for about 55 mins a game but those last 5 minutes they stink and it is why they were never great.

stick to proveable arguments junc, stop making shit up as you go and then trying to defend it and annoy people.

everything is different, every snap is different. you cant have it where the d is on the field last and loses but have it where the O in on the field last and loses and not have it be the same.

so we could have 4 turnovers, 2 of them being 95 yard pick 6s, yet if we are up 17 to 14 and the defense gives up a td to end the game its on them.

even though we threw away at least 6 and up to 14 points, gave the other team 14 points and our defense only gave up 1 td all game.

that scenario would be bad defense, not bad quarterbacking. smh thats just amazing.

Right but it was Sanchez and the O that had only put 10 points on the board before giving Denver 7.

Both the D giving up the game winning drive and the pick 6 were terrible but you need to look at the overall picture. The D only gave up 3 points before that game winning TD. IF the O does their job and puts up more points there is no opportunity for a game winning drive.

The O only scored 13 points and gave Denver 7. That means Denver only needed 6 points to tie that game or 1 TD to win it. The D would have had to hold Denver to a FG for the team to win. It is not reasonable to expect a D to do that. It is reasonable to expect an offense to score more than 13 points and not give the other team 7. The blame belongs on Sanchez and the O far more than it does on the D.

junc is hypervigilant, like me, but for other reasons.

Don't expect him to change his ways. That's the problem with people. Winning an argument is a relative concept, and overrated.

Bending people to your will is absolute.

In Pittsburgh, all you wanted was a chance for the offense to get the ball back. That didn't happen and the blame landed squarely on the defense. In the Patriots game, Mark Sanchez had the ball with a chance to win or tie and failed. Forget about everything prior. These are the rules you established.
