Our D got torched, that was a rare game where revis struggled. Sanchez didn't have a great game but he had 4 TDs including a scramble and throw for a TD to win it. hasn't played in a WCO since college, right? he has familiarity w/ Kerley and Edwards, not much w/ anyone else. do me a favor and go back through his 4 years and find the game changing mistakes please?
This is joke, right? It has to be. Before I commit to doing this, I want confirmation that you aren't just completely fucking with me. Because, once I get started, it won't be pretty.
He was expected to learn the terminology of the WCO for a high powered offense. Even though he only started one year, he had to learn that offense before that as a backup. That's familiarity. The offensive line doesn't count?
I would like you to do it, if you want to save time and skip 2012 please do but if you want to show how bad he was in 2012 go ahead. Please show the game changing TOs, the TOs in critical situations.
he has 2 new starters on the OL and again he hasn't been in a WCO since 2008. brett favre was our QB, Eric mangini our coach- it was a LONG time ago.
Oh, I get it. His brain is so small that he forgets everything that happened 5 years ago. I remember a ton of things that happened about the Jets during 2008, and it's not even my job to remember them.
Is marty's terminology the same as whoever the USC OC was? this is his 3rd system in 3 years, that has to be discussed. He doesn't get any excuses, he ahs to perform but to expect a damaged QB to light it up from the start in preseason I don't think is being fair.
I didn't ask for one example, I asked for them all. I know it has happened but how often? I look forward to the list.
WCO terminology is standard. The play calls are what make it different. "Damaged"? Come on, man, it's not like he got physically raped last season. If he's really such damaged goods, why are you even sticking up for him? By the way, he took far more abuse in 2011 and you seem to think that he lit it up at the start of the 2012 season.
where did I say he lit it up at the start of 2012? he was badly damaged mentally at the end of last season, let's not kid ourselves. He took more physical abuse, I was talking mental which I believe is WORSE.
Torched is a little much. Buffalo scored 14 of their 24 points on drives that started at the Jet 20 and Jet 36. Another three came on a 53 yard field goal. They really had one extremely poor series all game on Buffalo's first td drive. Like I said, had the Jets had a more efficient QB, that game isn't close. It would have more closely resembled the scores the Bills were trounced by in their two prior contests. Games in which the opposing qbs threw 4 and 3 tds, no interceptions and completion percentages of 88.5 and 70. Rookie Andy Dalton in his 4th career start, Tim Tebow and Matt Moore (in the snow) were the only qbs other than Sanchez Buffalo was able to keep under 60% completion in a game that season.
Johnson had 8-75 and a Td mostly on Revis, for him it was a torching and we allowed an average offense to score 24 pts. 1st Buf TD was 90 yd drive 2nd was 20 yds after TO but just b/c we turn it over doesn't mean we have to allow a TD, does it? next TD drive was 75 yds last scoring drive began at Buf 19 They had ONE scoring drive in great FP and we almost allowed the GW TD in the final minute after we had scored a TD w/ about a min left. Johnson dropped a would be TD. The D dominated Buf in Orchard Park, at the meadowlands our D was torched.
No, that 75 yard scoring drive is only because those yards technically count toward the drive because Cromartie muffed the point (after a Bills 3 and out), essentially counting as a 4th down conversion for Buffalo. The actual possession post recovery started on the Jet 36, in which Buffalo scored on the next play after a brilliant grab by Brad Smith over Cromartie (they get paid too). You're just using stats without context. So just to recap: TWO scoring drives in great FP accounting for 14 of the 24 points.
It's a trap! (Admiral Akbar style) If you actually do this you will be treated to a litany of excuses about how that particular mistake wasn't so bad and if the Jets defense would just shut the opponents out none of the bad things would matter anyway and oh, btw, Peyton Manning farts blueberries so Mark Sanchez dingleberries don't taste so bad anyway. Nyjunc is a troll. I know there are times he doesn't seem like a troll but his entire reason for being is to rile you and get you to respond to him, hence troll.
um, your quote: "you seem to think that he lit it up at the start of the 2012 season." I assume the "you" in your post is me since you quoted my post. he very well may be, I have said it often this offseason that he may never be able to recover here. All I ever wanted was a chance for him to earn his job back. If he fails we move on.
You quoted my post and still can't figure out that I never stated that you said a specific line of text? You are aware that you are highlighting the play of the passing game against Buffalo 2012 in this very same thread, correct?
