when those new guys win then we can talk. Just b/c some teams are trending towards those types doesn't mean that trend will succeed.

You left out Vernon with a G for mistakes but your point is otherwise well taken

    Amazing,
First off, if Rex is fired, take it to the bank he will be a HC again the following year if he wants the job. There will be number of team chasing his services. If he chooses he can also go into broadcasting for a year or two and again there will be a number of outlets chasing for his services.

Just how many rebuilds do you folks wants to go thru. I swear every five years you people want to dump the staff and start again. For once in this franchises history, can we not endure the valleys so that we may finally reach the peaks. Rex is far from perfect and has more then a few areas to improve on. Yet, here is a coach who wants to be here and wants to win. A coach who players want to play for and a coach who knows, and has a passion for the game of football. If it weren't for the poor play from the QB spot, most of you would be singing a whole different tune.
Rex is far from the idiot and joke many in the TMZ sports media would have you believe he is. How many missteps does this franchise have to make before we finally get a break, not taking Sapp, passing on Marino and list is endless. I don't want to add firing the best damn coach this franchise has had in the last thirty years, only to watch him go elsewhere to become a championship winning coach. All because the he did his internship here to take the lessons learned to benefit another team.
It is my hope that Rex is allow at the very least, another two years to enjoy the gifts of next seasons draft and cap space ,to allow him and Marty to finish building this team. Then when these pieces are in place, if he cannot make this a long standing winning franchise he will have proved he is not the man for the job.

Bill Parcells and Weeb Ewbank were way better than Rex Ryan

  7. Funny cause both the Niners & Ravens play smash mouth football. Both were in the super bowl this past season.

As for the Steelers...if any franchise has the benefit of the doubt it is them. Yes they've suffered from massive roster turnover & aging. But every time that has happened in the past they've hunkered down..stuck their roots & delivered some amazing draft classes. Playing smash mouth & physical has worked for them for a long LONG time. The game maybe coming more passer friendly in some aspects..but it still is about beating up your opponent & a balanced attack.

There is more than 1 ways to skin a cat in this league. What style of team you are doesn't matter quite as much as getting talented players that fit your system, overall competence in the FO/Coaching staff & adapting to circumstances as they arrive.

Jets are finally turning the corner w/ some stability under Rex. They've finally started to bring in some young talent that fits Rex's vision & can be built around. You really wanna tell me that you can't win w/ defense in this league? That being physical & complimentary doesn't work?

Additionally the Jets are loaded w/ both cap space & draft picks heading into next offseason. A draft by the way that looks to be extremely well stocked. If you wanna say the Jets are a year or 2 away from being contenders..that's fair. But saying they're stock is way down?? Sorry.that couldn't be further from the truth.

It was suppose to be 4th and goal at the 1 before the penalty and he sends out the FG team in a pre-season game. That's where you go for it. He sees the penalty and then calls them back and goes for it at the 6 yard line

  11. It's SITUATIONAL football. In the PRESEASON. 4th & goal frome the one is all about push & is a crap shoot. 4th & goal from the 6th has a lot more layers to it. Layers worth further evaluation.

But hey...leyt's criticize & fire a coach based on a meaningless play in the preseason.

So you think they should have kicked on 3rd down with 6 seconds left? I disagree completely. He made the right call, a quick-hitter, if the first read isn't open, throw it out the back of the end zone. That would have left 1 or 2 seconds on the clock. The QB screwed up.

Maybe, but Weeb was allow to finish the job and had a franchise QB.

An tuna, great coach that he was, c never had any intention of being here long enough to finish the job. He was the biggest HC for hire whore in the modern game. He even admitted he should have never left the Pats. So you have to wonder where his heart truly was while coaching the Jets.

rex and sanchez have been one of the most succesful coach/qb duo over the past 4 years and we still hear complaints from this chicken little SOJ fanbase

y'all don't deserve to win. When the old SOJ fanbase die out, I think the Jets will go on a run of sustained success

Weeb didn't make the playoffs until his 6th season, what do you think this board would be like if we had a coach 5 years in w/ no playoffs?

Namath missed the playoffs his first 3 years and threw 9 INTs during a 3 game losing streak late that cost us the playoffs. What do you think this board would do if that happened today?

There wouldn't be a legend of Joe Namath if he played today b/c fans and the media would have run him out of town before he could succeed.

and they wonder why there's never been any dynasty with the Jets. Cowher did win a SB until his career was winding down, he would have never been given that opportunity with a fanbase like this one. Absolutely no patience and no vision, stability is key with any successful franchise.
