#1 it was a meaningless point, #2 even though things may appear to be the same each situation is unique. it is a difficult concept for most but just b/c things appear the same does not mean they are the same. I have more followers than anyone else, if I was goofing up more people would be all over it.
Well stated. And I agree, mostly. I just don't consider Sanchez to be "young talent" anymore. That shipped has sailed for him.
Those points weren't meaningless to the arguments at hand. Basically, the 35 yard line was deemed, by Junc, close to midfield -- when it suited his argument. And then, when it went against one of his arguments, Junc said that the 35 yard line isn't near midfield. It was a perfect illustration of your tactics. Like I said, all that instance did for me was question how many other instances, similar to that one, that there have been. Probably a bunch, but not enough people check that stuff. So, kudos to BeastBeach for sniffing out bullshit and then calling it out.
Lol it wasn't a situation-based point. It showed how your perception is biased based on the argument that you want to make. Luckily, you finally fucked up on something you couldn't squirm out of . Helps your argument? the 36 yard line is near midfield. Helps your argument? the 35 yard line isn't near midfield. The sad thing is that I'm pretty sure you do it and don't even realize it which just makes it pitiful. Edit: UniformBomber beat me to it. Well said. I have noticed it on other occasions but he usually leaves himself outs with the tired "it's different" nonsense.
Are we referring to that time Junc ripped Matt Ryan for a drive killing INT but excused Sanchez for the same action calling it akin to a punt? Sanchez punts a lot.
It's different if you can project that a bunch of other things PROBABLY happen. This dude knows the game and doesn't rely on fantasy numbers.
I would clarify by saying he bounces back game to game but within a game it seems to pile on more than bounceback recently. If you take out 2012, you still have the Ravens, Dolphins 2nd game, Denver game where he just can't get out of the funk he is in. Like you said, the next game is usually better, but the funk lasts a game. It would be nice if he can shorten that bounceback time to back where it was mid 2010 where the game could be salvaged for a win even after a poor outing. Even 2010 had the issues like MIA, BAL, GB where the team stayed in a funk all game. IND playoff is a good example of bouncing out of it just in time. Overall I agree with most of this, my main concern is yes we have won with Sanchez in the past, but Sanchez was also better in the past (specifically 2010 early 2011). The talent on the team in 2009 and 2010 on paper is much better than what we have now. The defense, while I expect to be great, we don't yet because there has been a lot of turnover and lot of new faces. And right now, the most recent memory of Sanchez is not winning games, but throwing them away with his poor turnovers. So basically your points are very good, but the above is how I see why people want a change at QB. I want a change in QB play also whether it means Mark getting better or Geno getting the job, but I do see why people are tired of Sanchez and believe his ceiling is capped.
You have no credibility on anything Sanchez related. Some of your particularly comical and delusional statements regarding Sanchez can be found decorating the signatures of several posters. Sadly, your fanatically unequivocal and adamant defense of Sanchez has become nothing short of cartoonish . . . You're basically the unofficial laughingstock of this message board. Furthermore, the fact that you feel the need to continually build yourself up as "fair", "unbiased", and "knowledgeable", while simultaneously putting everyone else down as "not understanding the game", only further diminishes your cause with intelligent, reasonable posters.
You should work on your reading comprehension. I never "blamed" #6. What I wrote was that Sanchez's performance was irrefutably terrible in that game. It was. Sorry.
This is standard operating procedure for junc. Equally common, is his alarming knack for simply ignoring entire paragraphs of text that invalidate either the premise or logic (or both) of his loony arguments.
Well whoop de damn do! You have followers!! This is a message board, not twitter. You are some guy on a Jets message board, not Adam Schefter. Get a grip. Nobody gives a rat's ass about your "followers" on TGG. You are losing it.
yeah, classic strawman in the few instances junc even responds to a post that sets him straight on sanchez. 5 paragraphs of stats, video, and expert commentary on sanchez sucking and he will point to an error like someone saying the play was on 3rd and 11 when it was on 3rd and 9 and use that to invalidate the entire post. junc has 0 credibility when it pertains to sanchez. i mean this entire thread is basically the equivolent of him arguing that 1 + 1 does not equal 2. there are 4 years of stats showing sanchez is legendarily terrible. there are entire youtube channels dedicate to breaking down how bad he sucks. by all measure from staistical to the eyeball test the only logical conclusion that can be made is that sanchez, each of the past 4 seasons, and certainly overall, has been one of if not the worst starting QB in football, regardless of how you weight the situation around him.
Name these two quarterbacks. stats after their first 4 seasons QB 1- 50% completion percentage 39td's 43int's 6,225 yards 14-20 record as a starter. 0 playoff wins. 0 playoff appearances QB 2 - 47.4% completion percentage 41td's 73int's 6,739 yards. 27-17 as a starter, 1-2 in playoffs
If either of those guys began their careers before 1990 it doesn't really matter. The game is so different now from what we had in the 60's, 70's and 80's that you can't make clear comparisons between players back then and now. Matt Schaub has passed for a higher YPA and better completion percentage than Dan Marino did in his early prime when he was truly one of the greatest QB's ever to play the game.
I respect the fact that junc has an opinion of his own, he may not be right but we are only fans essentially.
Who cares if you are right or wrong? It isn't about that. It is about being consistent with your evaluations. If you don't do that then you aren't worthy of having a discussion with. The reason these guys (and everybody knows who I am talking about with that, funny enough) have so many responses is because they say the most outlandish shit and proclaim to possess more knowledge than others who do not say outlandish shit. It is hard not to respond to outlandish shit, I myself am guilty enough. But in a slow news period like the offseason people are prone to getting pulled into the trap. Disagree with me, fine. Apply one set of standards for one player/situation and a different one to another...then we have a problem. And this has been proven to be the case with a couple posters on this forum.
