I don't care how good the team is around the QB(and we had a GOOD not great team around him), you aren't winning consistently w/ poor QB play. He was not reason #1 we won 4 playoff gams but he was vital to those wins and if he wasn't ready to play in this league there's no way we make either title game.
haha, check out this poll result from the Jets official site: http://poptip.com/nyjets/who-was-your-player-of-the-game-last-night-jets-nation-poll
I wouldn't say he was "vital" because looking at how he played those years, especially in 09. You could have put a decent QB in that spot and we win anyway. When you say vital to our success. The great o lines were vital. Revis was vital, the run game was vital. Sanchez not so much. You can win with anyway QB, as history has shown us throughout the years. However no team can win consistently without good QB play. That's why when the talent level dipped, he wasn't able to make up the difference.
we could have made those title games with a blind person at QB. we had a top 3 defense and top 3 running game and all sanchez did was turn it over all season. hell its a miracle we even made the playoffs with how awful sanchez was.
sanchez is terrible and it really makes us look idiotic as a fan base to have fans not only debating he isnt terrible, but making excuses and saying he is good. he is arguably the worst qb of all time with 50+ starts
OMG not this again. Mark played a decent if not big role in why the JETS mad it as deep as they did. Those come back wins in late games, those big throws to bring us to at least the AFCCGs. C'mon son.
ugh... mark sanchez cannot put the ball where it needs to be on a consistent basis. mark sanchez consistently folds up under pressure. mark sanchez reads defenses poorly. mark sanchez consistently turns the ball over. mark sanchez is not a good qb. these are all things that you measure a qb on. he is not good at any of them. so you can use your make believe bullshit all day, the bottom line still remains he is NOT a good quarterback, never has been and probably never will be.
winning 4 playoff games in 2 years w/ 2 wind each year is winning consistently, we've had ONE losing season. we could have made the playoffs w/ other QBs, would we have won 2 playoff games? probably not depending upon who the QB was. There you go again w/ silly, meaningless rankings. We didn't have a great D or run game either year- very good Ds and very good run game in '09 w/ solid run game in '10. Teams w/ better talent and supposed better QBs didn't win as much in January. This post is idiotic and embarrasses the fanbase.
Looking at how Sanchez played or what he was asked to do I don't think it's far fetched that we could win playoff games with a decent QB.
With a top notch QB we would have possibly been in the Super Bowl And btw lets not forget the Colts let us in the first year. That berth was barely earned
Would you trade Sanchez straight up for Blaine Gabbert, Jake Locker, Matt Flynn, or Christian Ponder? If you answer yes than you know the Jets need a new quarterback.
he was outstanding in postseason for the most part. Look at Rivers and sanchez in that '09 div rd game. Rivers tried to force things and made the big mistake, sanchez didn't and it was a huge reason why we won. Mark has 4 playoff wins, only Flacco and Rodgers have more since Mark entered the league and there are a million supposed better QBs that had better talent around them that couldn't win as much- I wonder why?
No, because I don't want to trade one below average quarterback for either an unproven one or another below average quarterback. I want to cut him and move on. edit: I would trade Sanchez for the RIGHT unproven guy . . . my interest would be entirely determined on a case by case basis. Out of that group, the two that would interest me the most are Ponder and Gabbert.
